Boy are Chelski poor this season. Caballero on the Eriksen goal? Wtf???? In any case spurs helped us (and themselves) out.
it wasn't going that high. if it was going so high, he'd have thought it was going high and wide - why didn't he jump as goalies are supposed to do? why did he not raise his arms to the ball at all? why was he lowering his body as it went past him? weirdest "goalkeeping" I've seen since Sprake threw it in his own net. (you can look it up )
Hard to survive losing 8 matches in a row. I guess he won't be having a glass of wine after getting to 40 points...
Look at it closely again. It was rising like it would hit row 20 as Hobo said. By the time he saw it change direction his instinct would have known he wouldn't get near it ... So, no reaction. It's like when you are on the freeway and nowhere near the car in front but everyone brakes suddenly and your foot automatically jams the brake rather than brakes slowly....
not "no reaction. his reaction was he bent down. as the ball went in, he was close to being on his knees. for a ball that was - according to some - destined for row 20?
My guess is that he was fooled by th eposture of ericson and the way the ball left his foot... (before it started to rise) ... can't see any other explanation for him to have gotten stuck like thta. It was one of those shots that just flummox the keeper....
I think most of these go in. Same for Xhaka's strike against Mignolet. Yes they are towards the center of the goal, yes the keeper flails at them, and I'd even say yes a keeper like De Gea or Oblak or Neuer would save them. But most other keepers wouldn't have a good percentage if they faced a lot of these kinds of knuckled, driven, dipping strikes IMO. The reality is the ball isn't hit this deceptively all that often while still remaining on target.
well I guess we could debate the bejesus out of this, but one thing is 100% certain - if Migs or Karius had let that goal in they'd be hanging from a tree by now.
There's a fiere curve to the newer balls too..... (Rather like Tom Brady's after Giselle has deflated him....)
Sunderland it won't be! They have a fight on to not get relegated form the championship.... wolves are a nailed on cert and wolves always try to play well..... Villa could get back in too
ahhhh, poor little megabucks-club Chelsea. the UK media won't like this one little bit .... https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/apr/02/chelsea-fear-massive-cost-champions-league-failure Chelsea fear massive cost of missing out on Champions League Missing out on club football’s most prestigious competition would hit revenue and hamper recruitment of players
I think Cardiff is nailed on for the second automatic spot. After that, I fancy Fulham but it all depends on how each club in the play-offs handles them.
