NBC Sports Network said that Burnley could qualify for a UEFA competition for the first time since 1966-1967, which is 52 seasons before 2018-2019 will be. Burnley is in seventh. If Manchester United, Chelsea, or Tottenham win the FA Cup, seventh place in the Premier League will qualify for Europa League Qualifying Round 2.

With Manchester United and Chelsea playing in the FA Cup Final, seventh place goes to the Europa League. Burnley has only 2 points from their last 3 games, but still lead Everton by 6 points and 15 goal differential. Burnley was eliminated in the Quarterfinals of the 1966-1967 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. Burnley's opportunities to clinch seventh are next Saturday when Everton hosts Southampton (who is battling to avoid relegation), next Sunday when Burnley goes to sixth place Arsenal, or May 13 when Burnley hosts AFC Bournemouth and Everton is at West Ham United.

With Everton's draw, Burnley clinched a spot in the Europa League for their first European competition in 52 years.
