What does any of this have to do with the subject? You've already admitted that you don't care about anything except the World Cup You seem like nihilist and a terrible person to have at parties.
You didn’t answer the question: it’s fine if you are or are not; just be up front about it, particularly as you’re a new poster while many here have “known” each other for decades(!) It’s one thing to say that we need not throw the baby out with the bath water and some of the criticisms are overboard; however, you’ve gone the complete other way and implied that any criticism is unwarranted because we just got unlucky and that relying on minor-league MB/JA was still the right call cuz they won the MLS cup.
LOL. Now instead of sounding like don garber’s wife, you sound like mine. Is that you, sweetheart? You shouldn’t use big boy words that you don’t understand - thinking that we have higher expections than qualifying out of CONCACAF isn’t nihilistic. Heck, we have many posters here who expect us to make it to the R16 even when drawn against Germany, Portugal and Ghana. I’m not quite there yet but do expect us to make the WC and compete hard in the group.
Shouldn't matter, ideas must be fought with ideas. Everything else is one or another fallacy (appeal to authority, ad hominem, false attribution, fallacy of composition/division, etc.). The only way to increase the information-to-noise ratio online is to stick to your guns: expose your theories, ideas, hypotheses, anecdotal evidence, mathematical conclusions, and observations, ignore the fallacies, don't try to present something as that which is not, and ignore attacks that are only there to increase the noise and derail any discussion from the informational POV.
"a massive racketeering conspiracy, money laundering, wire fraud . . . and more than $150 million in bribes tainting the League, its officials and a major shareholder." - Bill Edward's lawsuit against NASL. "a breach their fiduciary duties to the NASL." - NASL's lawsuit against US Soccer directors. Come on NASL, get some of these:
I didn't answer because the question was a sign of your weakness. You're obviously not very confident in your arguments.
You're really out of your league here and it's obvious. You have no real confidence in yourself or your arguments. You said that you don't care about the Copa America and the Gold Cup. Then you said that even an incompetent federation could qualify for the World Cup. So you only care about the World Cup itself. So why are you here? What's the point of all your whining and hand-wringing? Come back in 2022, sweetheart.
Hopefully by the time we suck so badly we're not even Top 6 in the region, FIFA expands the WC again, to 64 teams, with 9 going from CONCACAF.
Here is some of the Old Boy Network shit we are dealing with: Alexi Lalas Retweeted I guess the Germans need to get a new president, stop pay to play, get a new marketing deal, have less foreigners, and rethink pro-rel.— Werner Fricker Jr (@FrickerJr) June 27, 2018 Some unknown US fan responded. @AlexiLalas @herculezg @PitchInvasion5R @TaylorTwellman Wait, did I miss the Germans not qualifying from a region with 2 last-place Group teams, and another which lost a playoff to a last-place Group team? You're comparing apples and bananas. But hurrah to the old boy network...— Lloyd Heilbrunn (@LloydHeilbrunn) June 29, 2018
The whole idea of stopping pay-to-play is ridiculous. IMG is a privately run sports academy which coaches tennis, golf, football, lacrosse, track and field, baseball, softball, baseball, softball and many other NCAA sports. How do you stop that? Show up with torches and pitchforks? What we need is alternatives to pay-to-play and they are happening.
For one, real high schools can refuse to play them or be prohibited from playing them. But my post was really about the attitudes of the Good ole boys
But then could they get a NCAA scholarship which is the whole point of most pricey p2p academies? I know.
I'd take the good ole boys every single day over the BS sycophants who think that any change is therefore good change.
Speaking of pay to play...my daughter just got done with her freshman year, and she was a marginal starter on her JV team, which lost most of its games. She also plays challenge with NCFC. (Here, there are two levels above challenge.) From one of those two things, I got an email inviting her to a college showcase thingie. They only were asking for $700. There are supposed to be 50college coaches confirmed. Imagine if they get 100 girls to sign up. That’s a cool $70,000.
The Good Ole Boys are sniveling sycophants to Chicago House. Who exactly are those who seek change from the idiots who brought us utter failure for the last decade being 'sycophantic' with respect to? .................
What's changed since the US failed to qualify for WC 2018? Well, at the moment of utter failure there was high hope that utter failure would provoke USSF into taking a long and hard and brutally honest look at its heavy responsibility in those utter failures. Now, there is no such hope.
I have the admire the genius of my parents who guided me into a childhood of playing sports, but never to the point I'd be good enough for them to be coerced into the expensive upper tiers of youth sports.
May 31st 2018 join date. So, you've been trolling about a month, or are a sock puppet.... Bruce, is that you?
Utter failure for the last decade? Two World Cup Round of 16 appearances A Confederations Cup Runner-up Two Gold Cup championships A Copa America Semifinal appearance This is what I mean. Deluded sycophants who don't have a clue what they're talking about. But, but pro/rel! But, but SUM!
Gulati resigning and US Soccer appointing its first General Manager are two things I can think of. Then there's putting out a line-up against France with an average age of 22.
