"Wonder of Innsbruck" predating Lake Placid. West German hockey noobs(the press called them "our whipping boys") win bronze. They went into the final game against an unbeatable seeming US team(with Bud Schneider) thinking they would have to win by 4 goals. Impossible. They managed to win 4-1 with chances to make it 5-1 or 6-1. After the game they were sitting in the dressing room for about an hour sad and angry at themselves until somebody came to tell them they actually had won bronze. That game alone started of hockey as a sport in the country. Players today still cant believe they were standing up there with the Russians and Czechs during the medal ceremony game starts at about 40:00
