Best thing about this whole situation: he's gaining experience, and the manager seems to believe in him a lot. That's massive for a young player.
I'm still holding on to hope that Haji breaks through. Jonathan Gonzalez I heard is also looking good, high hopes for the these players in their teens.
Hope not too off topic but I've decided I cannot be convinced that a Williams/McKennie pairing is not superior to Bradley/Nagbe.
As long as the Williams isn't Richie "ABMOD" Williams although that would be a funny pairing. The overlooked youth player who breaks into the big time and the apparently idiot coach who didn't value him.
I am watching at work, so I am missing about 50% of it, but I really have liked Wes's touches. He is doing well with his head and feet playing it on the first touch into excellent places. An all-touches video of the first half would be pretty.
Handbags!! PS: Second Bayer goal correctly ruled offside. Getting a bit nasty with a foul every 30 seconds, Wes still not getting enough balls from his mates IMO.
I think at this point everybody in the Aspirin Team has a yellow. If you're a box-to-box CM who covers a lot of ground, but there's no one to pass you the ball, are you still a B2B CM?
I’m surprised that Wes is still in with Bentaleb on the bench. He’s doing well but not offering much in the attack.
Thing about McKennie is that if he wants to touch the ball, he has to take it away from the rivals. He's had his share of recoveries, and has been at his best when playing a more defensive role. When he was adding himself to the attack, he went ignored.
Very well played. He's been an asset covering the defense. Fans seem happy, although it's hard to tell with Germans.
