no. five is the max. but the only way 4th wouldn't get in would be if both the CL and Europa winners were English, and both finished outside the top 4 - which is now an impossibility. in that situation, the top 3 and the two euro-champions would be in. 4th would be out. a week or two back, that was a possibility. had we tanked in the league but won the CL, and either Chelsea or Arsenal tanked in the League and won the Europa, it could have been, say: City 1st Liverpool 2nd Chelsea 3rd Man U 4th Spurs 5th and CL winners Arse 6th and Europa winners in that scenario, Man U would not go to the CL, despite finishing 4th. you could switch Chelsea with Arsenal and it would still be the same.
Despite the 8 goal differential, as a Spurs supporter, I will not rest easy until Sunday 5 pm UK time and we are confirmed in 4th.
but i'm still bugged - is there a chance that if we're 4th and l'arse is 5th and taken the UEL cup and having us robbed of the CL spot???
