It took a year to get the charges dropped, the "victim" was never identified because of laws in Ohio, and both players suffered enormous damages to their reputations. That was over 20 years ago so this ain't a new way to make a buck
If I recall Mario Gori was off the team and out of the league a few years after that. Diaz-Arce was also traded to another team.
