You can win with any kind of system if you spend 3 billion Euro in players.

Yeah, as we have seen with ManU, PSG etc. Its not that black and white.

City won PL with Mancini and Pellegrini 'cos of spending. Pep's first season was a disappointment. He has spent a lot since then at City. Not to mention he tookover an unstoppable Bayern team and ended up changing their style to get knocked out by Spanish teams thrice in a row.

The difference was that the previous coaches won the league, but never dominated it like they are doing now. I just don't see any side in the PL beat them this year. They reinforced their bench, the likes of Sane/Mahrez, Jesus, Bernardo Silva, Gundogan etc are on the bench (when everyone is fit), top quality squad.

Than again, Mancini was 4 seasons the coach and won 1 title with luck on the last day. Pellegrini 3 seasons 1 title. Pep has got 1 out 2 now, probably will be 2 out 3 with completely dominating the league two years straight now. Its becoming the way Farca was dominating the league in Spain and the rest just played along for fun.

You have to massively ******** up a project where you spend £500m and are fielding Smalling at the end of it.

United is not the norm. It’s a catastrophic anomaly.

For a large part, Guardiola had a very good base to start with, Silva, Aguero etc. are all super reliable players.

^ + Fernandinho who is still their undisputed CDM, KDB, Sterling, Otamendi
This team already had good quality playerS now add another 500m worth of signings on top of that ... Mahrez, Bernando, Gundogan, Sane, DeJesus..Laporte, Mendy, Ederson

So far City has only won their league which is the same that PSG has done..But under Pep they’ve been knocked out by Monaco (Ligue 1) and Liverpool in CL.

Sterling was almost labeled as a failure before Pep came. He obviously made the players better and Sterling is one of them. Otamendi was nothing special at Valencia, he still is nothing special, Laporte still is a average defender. But because of the system en philosophy they play in, they aren't tested that often. Maybe twice a game.

Bernardo Silva, Jesus, Sane, Mahrez, weren't exactly world beaters before they came.

Only difference with PSG is, that no body in their league has the financial power to compete with them. While in PL that is the case for City, enough other teams who can and splash money. Add to that, PSG has Neymar and Mbappe, you can play 9 donkeys and you still win Ligue 1. City has not got a player of that caliber. They perform and play more as a team.

It's truly a miracle how we seem to be succeeding appointing managers with zero experience to one of the hardest coaching jobs in world football.

Great start but how many coaches get to start off against Melilla, Viktoria Plzen and Vallodolid at home.

I'm not sure it is as much of a case of Solari doing something extraordinary as it was Lopetegui failure to make "logical" decisions.

Tiki taka is basically total football combined with the spanish tradition of short passing (vs long ball in england). The high defensive line and the heavy pressure system is nothing extra ordinary or new. It goes back to that 50's Hungary national team and even prior.

Solari has been great. Needless to say it's too soon to judge but almost identical line up under Lope were catastrophic in easier matches.
We had people here talking about major over haul and changing 13-14 players in the squad.

They paid 200 mil. Euro for those 4 players, on top of 100s for the rest of the guys on the lineup, how about we stop acting like he's playing with Santi Mina and Maxi Gomez instead?

No he didn’t . He just shown natural player progression which happens with experience.
His transfer was 55ME as a 20 year old. He’s also been part of the English NT in all of its youth divisions and has played with the main team since 2012 which demosntrates he’s been one of the better English players in the EPL.

When they signed them none of us thought they would be good enough for us. They took risks signing them for those prices and it paid off.

    Conte interview in Marca:

"Antonio Conte has broken his silence on his link with the Real Madrid job and responded directly to Sergio Ramos' claims that for a new coach 'respect is not imposed, it is earned'.

The Italian coach, speaking to Rai Sport, also made a reference to those that doubted he could bring about a revolution at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

"Ramos' words? When a coach arrives at a team he must bring education and respect, something that he would expect from the players too," Conte said.

"When this goes wrong, the problems begin.

"We Italian coaches have a great culture of work and when you join a new club you can't change everything, you must try and do it very gradually," he explained.

"Each coach must be a good tailor and adapt their beliefs to the human material that they have at their disposal."

The former Italy and Chelsea boss then went on to discuss his future and when he might be expected to return to the dugout.

"For a coach of my level it's better to wait until June and not take a train to my career," he continued.

"I will wait until next season." "

The bolded part is being taken out of context already by the shit media and Ramos haters, it's already being posted as:
Conte: Sergio Ramos? When a coach arrives, he expects respect from the players.

Most posters here are not really good at judging prospects . Dont go by that.
They think Jese and Asensio were future balon d’ors that Isco is worth 200M..
There is a tendency here to undervalue foreign players and overhype Spanish players.. and their reasoning is we are the best club in the world, the other leagues suck and these other players do nothing in CL.
You still got some knuckleheads who still think Mbappe is not really that good because he plays in France, same with Neymar..

The reality is that most of these City players are very good players.

They still aren't. The league is quite weak tbh. People expect excellence every week here.

He probably wont last until 2020 but lets see. At least better than Lopetegi. Very hard we win anything this season which means he will be out most likely. Never lose hope though :)

There should be something between ultimate excellence and clear complacency we are facing in some matches. We could use those to form a competitive team.
Your post is like saying no offence then roast someone to his roots
