I don't think Asensio is ready for the number 7 shirt yet. We shouldn't burden him with that kind of pressure.

If he's asking for the number or willing to take it on, give it to him. He understands the pressure that comes with it, I'm sure he's up for the challenge.

I think we should give it to him. All this stuff is ridiculous.

I think we should give it to him. Asensio has shown a lot in his two seasons here, but whats missing is that last step up for consistent elite performances. Giving him the #7 will set that expectation, and he can no longer hide behind his age or inexperience. He was part of Spain's WC team and has had a lot of starts already, plus he isnt even that young anymore. Same goes for Isco, both are no longer prospects.

Can he make up his mind?
He wanted the 10 when James left and now he wants the 7 ? Lol

Well he is 22, not exactly a prospect, but still pretty young. Agreed with your point though, give him the number, and he's got to to level up and train/play/act like a big guy 24/7, not the kid with some great performances here and there.

No need to put the enormous burden of no 7 on Asensio yet, let him flourish this season without any added pressure.

The biggest number to fill is #17 of legendary Alvaro Arbeloa. #7 is a close second.

Didn't really take much, (or long), to upgrade.

Poor Arbeloa. He wasn't that bad. People hate(d) on him so much.

Alvaro declined steeply in his last season and a half, before that he was a very reliable player.

To say people hated him isn’t really accurate.

Alvaro is the GOAT. Anyone who disagrees can come fight me and get his or her ass beat. Yes i'll fight a woman for Alvaro.

Lucas - i'll spin the ball on my hand and score on your candy ass then go home and bang your woman - Vasquez is a worthy wearer of that shirt. :inlove::inlove:

Yeah he was virtually useless for most of 14/15 and by 15/16 he was almost literally a mascot despite producing some of his best games for the club in 13/14 like against Galatasary at home in the CL group stages.

I've always thought that talking shit about Arbeloa should be a bannable offense.
