I've mentioned it on the CS board. It used to be that replies with tweets embedded would be resized. Now it's all tweets. They ********ed it up again.

I thought that the under 23s played good soccer, but lacked accountability up front. If you let an inferior team hang around long enough, they start to believe they can win the game. That is what happened on Wednesday night. As the game went on, Greater GBFC got stronger and stronger. It was a matter of time before they scored on a counter attack. Once that goal was scored, there was no way DC was going to score. GBFC were playing like true believers and were throwing anything they could in front of the goal.

Did they ever reveal what GBFC stood for (besides the FC part, which I assume is the same stupid FC every other stupid team uses to pretend they're British)? Did I just answer my own question, is it ..... Goddamned British Football Club? ;)

Google suggests Binghamton is in NY - So 2 NY teams, then one from Jersey and one from DC made the quarters? Interesting mix.
NJ vs NY for the final. Go NY :D

and of course the stupid arse management team from NYRB decides to play this NPSL playoff match at the EXACT same date/time as the parent club playing San Jose at Red Bull Arena...this pretty much guarantees an attendance of three to five at the NPSL final. Of course one of them would need to be the Binghamton bus driver...the sheer brilliance of MLS growing a fan base from the bottom side up...

I might have to stop by and watch a few of these, very close to the house.

Do they really play twice each weekend two weekends in June? Says Fri/Sun and Sat/Sun last two weekends in June, seems harsh.

Where are you seeing pricing info? I don't even see the coach listed on the DCU site :)

I did find this in the Youth Soccer News listing about the "partnership" between DCU and Evergreen FC, though what the partnership is seems absent :)

The D.C. United U-23’s will be coached by Evergreen FC Technical Director Richie Burke, who has a wealth of experience with the Black-and-Red, including serving as a First Team assistant coach under Ray Hudson and being extensively involved in the launch of the D.C. United Academy. Burke recently returned to the Washington area to Evergreen FC after serving as head coach of Livingston FC in the Scottish Championship from 2011-13. D.C. United Under-18 Head Coach and Head Scout Tom Torres will serve as assistant coach.

The team is trolling me on here now apparently - here's everything you wanted to know about the team and their games

    http://www.dcunited.com/news/2015/05/dc-united-under-23-update

Nice looking roster (based on pedigree anyway as I know none of them).

The season tix are high because they come with use of the new zipline - which coincidentally I made fun of while driving past on Sunday - they finally have signs up, but not for soccer or anything, for the zip-line. And a seat cushion :ccol:
