Weekend MLS Tilts Commanding Action On Secondary Ticket Market

By Greg Cohen on Jul 8, 2016 at 5:31 PM
The Fourth Of July fireworks may have ceased, but it looks like there will be some left over fireworks concerning MLS action for the upcoming weekend. As the season progresses, the top teams will cement their status atop the tables while some playoff outsiders, like Seattle and New England, will look to get on a winning streak to move into playoff contention. An overview of this weekend’s top games is presented below.

    7/9/16 LA Galaxy @ Seattle Sounders FC l CenturyLink Field l Avg. Ticket Price: $78.64 l Get-In: $35

The LA Galaxy (26 points) will travel north to face Seattle (17 points). LA currently sits in fourth place in the Western Conference, while Seattle is in 9th. Seattle features some of the most talented players in the MLS, so they’re capable of making a late-season run. They’ll need a win over the Galaxy in order to move one step closer to the playoffs. Fans that want to attend this game can find ticket options and deals on Razorgator, which has Galaxy vs. Sounders tickets starting as low as $35, though that’s actually the highest get-in ticket price this weekend. Fans traveling to this game can find parking options for Centurylink Field parking on ParkWhiz.com to help them save money on their travel.

    7/9/16 DC United @ Philadelphia Union l Talen Energy Stadium l Avg. Ticket Price: $54.11 l Get-In: $23

A battle between two potential playoff rivals will commence at Talen Energy Stadium this weekend when Philadelphia (26 points) hosts DC United (21 points). Philadelphia is currently in second place in the Eastern Conference, while DC United rank fifth. Philadelphia defeated DC United, 1-0, earlier this season, which could foreshadow an exciting rematch in this one. According to Razorgator, this matchup currently boasts the second highest average ticket price this weekend ($54.11).

    7/9/16 Columbus Crew FC @ New England Revolution l Gillette Stadium l Avg. Ticket Price: $52.31 l Get-In: $27

Two teams currently outside of playoff contention will meet at Gillette Stadium this weekend. It’s been a forgettable season for Columbus (16 points), while New England (19 points) will look to string a few wins together in order to move up in the table. The lackluster records of these two teams is not deterring fans from buying tickets on the secondary market, though. On Razorgator, Columbus vs. New England tickets start at $27, which is the second highest get-in ticket price this weekend.

    7/8/16 Houston Dynamo @ Orlando City SC l Citrus Bowl l Avg. Ticket Price: $51.65 l Get-In: $22

Orlando and Houston will battle it out in a inter-conference match-up on Friday, July 8, at the Citrus Bowl. Houston (17 points) currently ranks last in the Western Conference, while Orlando City (20 points) is just outside of the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. Orlando City enters this game having lost two straight games, while Houston is on a two-game winning streak as it tries to turn its season around. The average ticket price for this game is $51.65, which is the fourth highest price this weekend.

    7/8/16 FC Dallas @ San Jose Earthquakes l Avaya Stadium l Avg. Ticket Price: $47 l Get-In: $22

The top-seeded team in the Western Conference, FC Dallas (34 points), will travel to San Jose to take on the Earthquakes (22 points). Dallas enters this match on a three-game winning streak in which they’ve outscored opponents, 8-1. San Jose, meanwhile, is 1-1-2 in its last four game. San Jose is currently sitting in ninth place in the Western Conference, so it will need a big effort to climb up the table. Fans that want to watch this matchup can find tickets for reasonable prices on the secondary market. The average ticket price for this game is $47, which is the fifth highest ticket price this weekend.
