After having taken a look at the birds of florida: herons and egrets page--it seems to me it is a snowy egret. The give away is the crest feathers at the top of the bird. Normally they flop as in the picture below but if the bird is stressed, excited, or trying to impress a mate it can raise the crest feathers.
Really good interview with Caleb Porter: https://theathletic.com/473120/2018...th-carolina-plots-his-return-to-the-sideline/ Money Quote: “There is zero motivation for me to take over a club that isn’t going to do it the right way, that is not going to want a long-term vision.… There is going to be a right club, I’m not sure which one it is, but I’ll know when it’s the right club.” A little insight into why he turned down the Orlando City job Not MLS specific, but a great article into the sport and conditioning side of Arsenal: https://theathletic.com/474573/2018...t-steps-to-improve-player-health-and-fitness/
Alright, y'all have had your fun, now let me tell you what it is. This is a white-morph Great Blue Heron, a bird that most people have never heard of. Let me explain. First, the profile of the head and bill fits the heron better than the Snowy Egret, which has a more prominent forehead and shorter legs in propotion to its body. Second, the white morph of the Great Blue Heron is only found in south Florida, making it unique to the area. And did I mention it has pink legs and a plume off the back of its head in breeding plumage? Case closed. (And yes, I'm a birder.)
No need ... I just get up, make a cup of coffee, do a couple of google searches and make a thread. Glad to be of service!
I've sat here all day trying to come up with a Birdcage (movie) joke but it just isn't coming. Doubly ironic, and I say this in all seriousness, my daughter's parakeet died today. Surely that's not coincidence?!
Based on how things are going they could end up playing their games on SE Egret Pl Stuart, FL. Its only 100 miles from downtown Miami
YEAH! Take that assholes! (Is there a BigBird board? 'Cause I'm enjoying this, love birds, just wish it was more partisan and trollish. Jeff, could you crank it up a bit?)
Well, I suppose they could do a documentary about their attempts to get a stadium deal done called La Cage aux Fails.
I thought you had misuderstood the reference, but after some research I have found that there is, indeed, a googie colony in Wildwood NJ. I still think it is primarily associated with LA and Las Vegas, though.
