haha I thought it looked suspicious too but I promise it is not me Anyone who suggests a song from Be Here Now is under suspicion to be me, but I have better things to do than sockpuppet my own boards
The only song other than yellow that has gold black or yellow in it that I’ve ever heard that would be a decent anthem is Meredith by The Stone Poneys. I could see it being decent when sung as a soccer anthem, this song actually sucks really hard but the Nordecke is better than Linda Ronstadt. Meredith (On My Mind) When the sun comes up and I awake I think of you When I walk out to meet the day I think of you When the morning wind is in my face I think of you And you're on my mind On my mind And you're on my mind all the time When the sun gets high and heals the day I think of you When the air is still and the earth ablaze I think of you When the shadows stretch and start to fade I think of you And you're on my mind On my mind And you're on my mind all the time When the sun gets low and the day gets cold I think of you When the evening winds rise up and blow I think of you In the nights of silver black and gold I think of you And you're on my mind On my mind And you're on my mind all the time When the sun gets low and the day gets cold I think of you When the evening winds rise up and blow I think of you In the nights of silver black and gold I think of you And you're on my mind On my mind And you're on my mind all the time Personally I’m fine with Yellow, but it’s never gotten off the ground so might as well suggest other things.
Haha, nah (I didn't understand what a sock was till further down in the thread), just a big Oasis fan. Don't Look Back In Anger would be fantastic as well.
He was just joking because I have caught shit on here talking about Oasis songs and your post sounded like actual conversations I have had with The Ultra . DLBIA is the greatest sing along song I can think of, but it has nothing to do with the Crew, unlike Yellow or that above song with Black and Gold in it.
lets just keep it simple. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kN_u3xmJWhk"]YouTube - The Aggrolites - We Came To Score[/ame]
Not an anthem by any means, but I've always thought that for a "Robbie Rogers song," we should sing the Mr. Rogers Neighborhood song. Of course, Troy's Ultraz will think that it's "gay" and "weak" but I think it would be pretty cool. I also think it would get a laugh out of the players.
Get a pocket of us singing it might seem like a "nice try" but get a MASSIVE group singing it and it will sound legit.
That's what I thought, and therefore found the original comment strange. Glad that's cleared up. Once you're a Tory you can't leave Mike.
Give me liberty or give me death. Besides, I was already labeled by the Tory himself as the first hater. I can't be a member.
The Maestro himself admitted you, the maestro trumps all. Mike you are hereby notified that you are and have been a member of Tory’s Ultras and you will remain so even if you try to reject your rich Tory heritage. Being dogmatic is fun; you will not move me from the ridged formality that is the Tory’s Ultras doctrine.
Well, in that case, as my first act as a member of Tory's Ultras, I humbly submit a song for an anthem. We wouldn't be able to sing it in the stands but if there was ever an anthem for this team, this is it. If we didn't have to play that stupid MLS Anthem and instead played this as the teams came out, the Nordecke would be a mosh pit of epic proportions. Okay, I guess we don't have any Pantera fans. Kinda surprising, really. How about this one instead: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvZ8qKGm98U"]YouTube - O.A.R. -LIVE- "Road Outside Columbus" Cleveland 2006[/ame] Lyrics: There's a road outside Columbus, Ohio. Feels like I drove along for years. this Midwest way of ease it surrounds us. I can't deny the rhythm here. And as I pull away from Riverside beside me, That High Street never looked so good. I miss my lady even though she often writes me. She tells me takes of my neighborhood. Surprise, Surprise, I traveled here. Four hundred miles from where I'm known. My friends are here. A couple years I've spent, I found I have a second home. As I'm blazing down my trail to education, There's no bliss in ignorance for me. I stop and stare, a breath of air might slow me down some. But that's just fine with me. Surprise, Surprise, I traveled here. Four hundred miles from where I'm known. My friends are here. A couple years I've spent, I found I have a second home. I never traveled far. Two hundred miles to go. That boulevard will take me home. Surprise, Surprise, I traveled here. Four hundred miles from where I'm known. My friends are here. A couple years I've spent, I found I have a second home. Surprise, Surprise, I traveled here. Four hundred miles from where I'm known. My friends are here. A couple years I've spent, I found I have a second home.
This song hits on all the right themes for a proper anthem. References to home, friends, specific locations around C-bus where we all have collective memories. The lyrics aren't too challanging. Certainly as learnable as "You'll never walk alone" Enough of 20 pages of everybody playing footsy with this topic. There is no better song for a Columbus Anthem. Game over. OAR gets my vote.
It's either OAR or "Yellow" by Coldplay. Those are the only two that really stick out in my mind. I'd be fine with either.
Someone needs to make this a poll..... 1. Yellow- Coldplay- would make a good anthem, speaks of our team's color(except that its gold...). Main objection is that coldplay "is gay". 2. Road Outside Columbus- OAR- has its Columbus roots 3. Can't Help Falling in Love- Elvis- incredibly easy to learn, overall would make a good anthem [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFSfdL5lPoY"]YouTube - Elvis Presley- Can't Help Falling in Love (With lyrics)[/ame]
