So what was the idea behind this scoreline? Is it Leo trying to pump up the goal differential in case there's a tie later in qualifying or is it players taking their frustrations out on an inferior team? Although the result doesn't tell me much I don't mind seeing that scoerline after this past weekend.
I would say its probably a little bit of both. We'll know in September if it was worth anything. "10 - The number of unanswered goals scored by Poland against San Marino to give them their largest ever margin of victory, superseding the 9-0 win they recorded against Norway in 1963. The biggest ever win during a FIFA World Cup qualifier in Europe remains the work of West Germany, however, who saw off Cyprus 12-0 in 1969." Next up for the NT a friendly on the road vs. South Africa (June 6th) As far as WC qualification matches in September, on the 5th in Szczecin we face off vs Northern Ireland, and then travel to Slovenia for an away fixture on the 9th.
Well, if not for the comedy of errors vs Slovakia, and Northern Ireland, we would be in a solid position, in a group that at the moment has 5 teams competing for 1.5 spots. But the errors did happen, and so far we have 6 pts vs San Marino, and 4 pts vs the rest. I'm going to refer to that old cliche and go "lets take it one game at a time", and win vs NI at home. If we can do that, than we can move on to the next game. If we don't win at home vs NI, well than we have a lot of friendlies to go through before 2012.
