Brazil demands "imminent revenge" for the Mineiraço CBF president José Maria Marin wants the DFB to agree to two friendly matches to "avenge" the 1-7 butt kicking from the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Marin believes that beating Germany in a friendly(!) would somehow ease the pain and the embarrassment suffered by the Seleção on July 8th, 2014 (can't even type this with a straight face...). According to Marin, beating Germany would provide a boost to the era of Carlos Dunga and the morale of the team. The CBF wishes for the first match to be played in March 2015 in (quote) "Europe", with a return game in 2016 in Brazil. Marin: "We can even go to Germany, if they wish. We don't have a problem with that. All we want is to turn the page." Dunga approves of Marin's idea. Source: Estadao de Sao Paulo "CBF vai ter revanche contra a Alemanha para 'exorcizar' 7 a 1 da Copa" "Dunga aprova ideia de revanche e diz não temer a Alemanha" Where does this petty-minded nonsense leave the CBF? Looks like they're still the same childish and arrogant imbeciles, devoid of any ability to progress into a new era, that they've been before the Mineiraço. Nothing is going to change that part of football history, no matter how many friendlies Brazil plays against Germany. What happened on July 8th, 2014 in Belo Horizonte will stay with them forever. Besides, what if Germany beats them again... and again? Could this be the beginning of an endless cycle of beatdowns with promptly following challenges? Hopefully Frankfurt won't embark on this kind of kindergarten baloney. The German Nationalmannschaft got more important things to do than patching up damaged inflated egos in Brazilian football.
It's a friendly and our guys felt bad about beating Brazil that bad, so we'd probably lose that one tbh. Either way, that game should be played in the USA if it happens
Good one. Let me guess: Chicago, Soldier Field, a.k.a. Lambeau Field South. Won't happen, the DFB plays its home games in Germany. Besides, I hope Niersbach tells Marin to climb a tree.
Yeah right, as if the Bundesliga teams don't have enough to complain about the national team and to many friendlie matches. Not gonna happen.
I said it thrn and I'll say it again.. I don't think we played anything special this game. I think it was more Brazil shitting their pants and completely losing the plot early into the game.. FFS if khedira is scoring 2 goals how bad is the other team playing???
I don't think that's fair. Yes, Brazil was not good defensively, but we were very clinical with our chances and effectively picked apart the defence with good passing and movement.
