Where can you start with this idiot?

Indecently assaulting a woman by grabbing her breast as he walked down the street.

His affair with his vice captain's wife?

Getting back together with his wife, then leaving her while pregnant for another woman?

Mocking a players battle with depression on tv with 'necking yourself comments'?

Arrested on the weekend for allegedly assaulting police during a domestic dispute at his home in Port Melbourne.

And now this has come out- He 'glassed' his new girlfriend in the face, then assaulted police in Miami last year, and faces a lengthy jail spell.

    http://www.theage.com.au/news/world/carey-glassed-lover-hit-cops/2008/01/30/1201369169509.html

Nine Network this morning said it had sacked the former football great turned commentator, a day after radio station 3AW announced his contract would not be renewed.

What an absolute disgrace for a man.

Even if you factor out everything either before this pair of incidents, or after them and focusing on those alone, that's quite a laundry list of indiscretions.

And he has disgraced his fame that he gained as a Premiership captain, without a shadow of a doubt.

I had thought that when I saw the Miami incident in the Herald Sun this morning, that it was just a hit piece just to take advantage of a man when he was already down for the count. But with Nine corroborating the story from a news perspective and then the sacking from that network as a result of it, there's no doubting its relevancy or truthfulness.

Wayne Carey's in much, much, much more trouble than he ever bargained for -- and in the wake of last year's debacles in the Ben Cousins scandal, I'd have to say that Carey's troubles are far more damaging to more people than what Cousins has had to endure.

Up to this point, I had wondered what the hell had happened over the weekend's incident, because we know nothing of what had occurred between the time Carey had made that 000 call (the call to the police, for our American readers) and the point where he got maced. Something at that time didn't mesh, to put two things together in those events.

But the Miami incident helps it all make sense, for all the wrong reasons of perspective.

Also... Carey had been welcomed back into the North Melbourne fold recently, with the off-season election of a James Brayshaw-backed board. But following Carey's sackings from 3AW and the Nine Network, you think the North Melbourne Football Club -- and James Brayshaw himself -- is going to distance themselves further from Carey? You'd better believe it.

Oh and also- I missed these for his shame file............. ;)

February 2003: A 19-year-old Adelaide woman claims she used a camera to take a photo of a partying Carey, naked except for a T-shirt.

August 2005: Carey leaves a crowd of 200 guests at a Gold Coast sportsman's lunch stunned when he opens his speech with a joke about his affair with Stevens' wife.

The long and the short of his latest hijinks is that he missed his Miami court appearance within the last couple of weeks -- at the advice of his attorney, which the judge in Dade County felt was ill-informed advice -- and back closer to home, Victoria Police are still deliberating as to whether to press charges against Carey for the incident last month.

Out of control, indeed. In any event, he's going to face trouble... somewhere, some way, somehow. It's inevitable.

And for a bit of context on the Andrew Denton "Enough Rope" interview program on the ABC last night, here's a copy of the transcript of the program.

    Judge for yourselves...

I'd like to see him get a serious punishment and not just a slap on the wrist....Let him do a month or 2 jail time which might wake him up a bit(or bring him back down to earth).

Without a doubt Carey would benefit greatly from doing an anger management course;)

Yeah I have to agree with ya on Wayne Carey. He is the biggest tool around. I could call him worse but I think that would be going a bit too far. I don't like him because of what he did with Kelli Stevens. I will never forgive him for that. Oh and his Dad isn't in the clear either. Let's say two wrongs don't make a right.

He forgot to mention his nose and what he puts up it as also a big part of the problem...

Can't help but wonder if Carey & Cousins are the exception to the rule or just the tip of the iceberg?...

Meanwhile in other news apparently serial footballing player-dater Candice Falzon has offered to step into the breach.

Friends say she is perfect because she likes doing it in bathrooms already! ;)

The North Melbourne Football Club, the team Wayne Carey captained to two premierships in the 1990s, has stated that it will help him through his difficult period if he needs it.

As for Carey's alleged breakup with Kate Nielson, good for him. To me, they seem like two co-dependant people, and he would be smart to cut ties with her in their relationship. It's also been said that anyone going through rehab or addiction issues needs to disassociate themselves, if possible, with whatever links them to the cause of their addictions.

If this is the case between Carey and Nielson, then it shows that Carey is serious about getting himself well and recovered.

The local Perth ABC Radio interviewed Wayne Careys US lawyer in Florida this morning. The guy says he is an experienced sportsman defence lawyer and will recomend Carey plead not guilty to the charges of assaulting 2 police officers.
You can tell he does not know how high profile Carey is in Oz and what sport he plays. He used the term "footballer" but wasn`t sure about that.
Has recomended to the Judge that the trial be set back to July so he can examine Carey`s background and the background details of the charges.
