To get 97 points and not win the league is incredibly harsh on Liverpool.I think they should be awarded the Champions League trophy for this year in recognition of their efforts. They clearly deserve it.— Tim Stillman (@Stillmanator) May 12, 2019
Not just you. I think the difference maker this year being that the current crop of the Prem's middle class (Wolves, Leicester, etc) were quite good. So the perception for me is that the bottom dwellers took fewer points off the top half of the table. Also, those three sides going down have squat for strikers. If you can't threaten a quality opponent then expect to face a comprehensive assault every game.
I should have said "relegated teams". I don't remember a season with the bottom two at 16 and 26. Or course, there probably have been worse bottom 2. Heck, Derby have the record at 11 points!
You're right, even that year that Derby got 11, the 2 above them were in the low 30's. For 2018-19 I wonder if there's been a correlation to how many points the top 2 earned, which I believe was an historic high (by some distance?). Obviously there's a fixed # of points available each season, and so this year the plebian teams were "robbed" of a few points they might've otherwise earned. But how does one know if it was bottom 3 who "lost" those points or perhaps the teams in positions 3-6?
I was stunned to learn that 6 of Huddersfield's 16 points came off of Wolves. The only other team they beat was Fulham!!
Chris Hughton has been cut loose from Brighton. Presumably to go find another Championship team to get promoted, which he's done a few times before. Chris is a likable guy, but sadly his fate seems to be that of a yo-yo manager... between the 2 leagues.
Chris Hughton looks like Gus Fring from Breaking Bad, who founded a restaurant chain called "Los Pollos Hermanos", aka Chicken Brothers.
FFP makes a Last Stand at the O.K. Corral? UEFA is poised to recommend punishment against Citeh, including a ban from playing in the CL. If that happens, wow! And if that happens for next season, might that mean that the 5th place finisher in the EPL gains qualification to UCL?
I popped into City forum to see what they're saying....the last post in there was in March! Super plastic
Still have never watched it. Started when it started but got bored after two episodes. I'll give it another go -- maybe this summer.
It starts off really slow, but gets really good. It's never super fast, though. I've compared a number of my law school classmates to Saul Goodman though.
Season 1 is by far the worst of the 5. I'm currently working through the show with my girlfriend (I've seen it, she hasn't). It took her until about mid-season 3 to get hooked.
