I am on a Dutch soccer board and have used Holland for The Netherlands, because it is shorter--and no one has ever mentioned this. Others use 'Holland' too. Funny.

Easy, easy. I wouldn't have said it in such a way but I tend to agree with boston.
IMO, Rapinoe is attention needy from what I have seen over the years. I have thought that since she played for the Red Stars back in 2009. From my perception, she loves attention.

And it has crossed my mind,... is she doing this just to get attention?

Maybe it's a good time to revisit an attendance chart by @kenntomasch from a couple years ago. (It would be even better to update it but my computer skills are really deficient)

The updated figure that I come up with for 2014 is an average attendance of 10,658

    For 2015, I come up with 27,722

Fro 2016 to date, it is 15,330
    [IMG]

Kenn Tomasch posted the above chart in response to a thread on Hope Solo and the controversy around her at the time!

There is nothing obscene about it... That is a general term used in reference to her using this as an opportunity to ... I am not sure what exactly. That is my point. Is that what you are upset about?

I don't play the PC word game. If that offends you, I cant help you.

Just noticed UEFA 17 game people has Rapinoe ranked as the #2 player in the world. Once the confusion clears Ill be impressed. Posted a link to the top 20 in the news thread.

It was definitely vulgar and you could easily use a different words to express your opinion. I encourage anyone who thinks that it broke Terms of Service (especially point: "posting any content deemed by us to be obscene, sexually explicit, vulgar, threatening, harassing, or abusive") to report it.

So much for freedom of expression I guess.

That is what Rapinoe is doing: expressing herself. You object to it.

It appears from his name that Boston is a "staff member." Therefore, if this is his workplace should he be fired? That is what you are advocating for Rapinoe.

Rapinoe as #2? Someone somewhere has a crush.

When have I objected to it? I simply question her motives.

I am curious to see what Boston's paycheck is from BigSoccer or how much sponsorship money he can get from Nike due to his BigSoccer status. My guess is the change in my car is worth more.

I am advocating Rapinoe be dropped because she is clearly still injured. A 30% per cent Rapinoe should not be on a limited roster.

What Boston posted was neither offensive nor vulgar.

Did you see Rapinoe play against Netherlands: a set play run to perfection, a Rapinoe chip into the box which resulted in the third U.S. goal.

And against Thailand a perfect cross on a ball that she corralled at the last micro-second before it went out of bounds and launched into a perfect cross that resulted in a goal.

    Those were quality plays.

And by the way, using the words "attention whoring" against a female staff member at a workplace could get you fired. No doubt about it.

I did see Rapinoe against the Netherlands. There was poor movement off the ball, errant passes, backing off of tackles, flopping and whining for cards. There was little to no pressure on her cross which is what happens when you are a late game sub against a tired opponent. It is a far cry from the Rapinoe of 18 months ago. That's what happens when you are not fully fit.

Thailand would get beat by plenty of high school teams. I have no idea what we gain from playing opponents that weak or how to judge a performance like that.

Did you see Rapinoe in the Olympics? Absolutely atrocious. There was no reason to have her there if all she could give was a sub par 30 minutes.

BigSoccer is not a workplace. Stop calling it one. If the higher ups believe something should happen to Boston so be it, but it is neither one of us who makes that decision.

Have you ever been on the MLS threads? They call each other and players sometimes every name in the book and at times they can get pretty nasty.

These women's threads are milk and cookies compared to what is sometimes being said on the men's threads.

    Lighten up. Noone's getting fired.

Next, try visiting the Mexican MNT threads :D

For real fun, report a Mexican's Yank Hall of Shame post and see what a Mexican mod does to your account :devilish:

At least on the MLS boards if something is nasty it is either deserved and backed up, obviously tongue in cheek, or the post is called out. Here... critical discussions don't go very far. Many take a peek and see it's not even worth posting here.
I might have been banned there at one point before ever reading a post there.o_O That's one of the boards that should be shut down. There's no excuse for a lot that still goes on there.

There have been a few "moderators" arriving in the WNT board to discuss Rapinoe, Hope and Abby.
Moderators i've never seen in the women's forums before yet suddenly feel an urge to chime in now.

Anyone else hear one of the commentators mention the U.S. friendlies against Sweden next month?

Wrong "Sw" country. Well, the incorrect one anyway. From my perspective it would be the right one.

The thought of scheduling a pair of friendlies against the team that has been the U.S.'s kryptonite for the past four years? If only...

Anyone is free to post on this board at any time for any reason. The moderators for the board are @Blaze20, @Crimson Ace, and @DeigoRedD. This is a game thread, but I'm seeing quite a few posters I never see during games...

Yeah, I noticed some outsiders will come on here whenever there's some negative USWNT media storm. It used to be they would pop in during the big tournaments but it seems like they've lingered on here for several weeks now.

I'm really surprised the Rapinoe discussion hasn't gotten its own thread yet. It seems to be at least 50% of the content of each of the last two game threads.

However, being disinclined to throw my own opinion into that discussion, I will not be the one to start that thread.

I would encourage you to also. I am confident I didn't break TOS or close to it. If I did anything wrong it was not realize this forum seems to be a" walk on eggshells" environment whereas the large majority of the other forums aren't.
