We will see if I am correct about the goals as the US change nearly half of the team at the half. They are playing Heath at left back?????
I cannot, for the life of me, understand why the fans chant "I believe that we will win" against weak teams like Mexico. Save that chant for the men's team or against really good teams, like France.
Wasn't that chant started by the A.O. at the 2014 men's WC? The A.O. need to create a new, original, champions chant for the USWNT; they've earned it.
I would not know. I have always felt that chanting, singing and other organized cheering cheapens sports. I go to matches to watch matches not to dance and make a fool out of myself.
I agree... we do not look impressive so far. Maybe they'll get tired and we'll score a few and make Ellis look brilliant. Why are we even playing Mexico? Is it for the $$$$$?
I get the idea, but the team has been too spread across the field the entire game. They already have space so there is no reason to force passes across the field to open things up. It could help to be more compact and one-sided. Hopefully Naehere is just cramping.
Meaningless passing around the back against a poor team like Mexico just makes the game shorter and give the bad team a chance. This, so far, is one of the most boring USWNT matches I have ever seen. The US is not really trying but that is not too surprising at this point either.
The women seem to be trying to play like the men. A lot of sloppy play and no decent play at all and no clue as to how to play forward.
I believe the back of O'Hara's head is a bit harder than the ball. Ertz head to head with O'Hara and comes out second best. A sloppy goal that results from Mexican incompetence,
Eh, it's a long old high school and college team chant and lots of MLS teams did it long before that (I think Red Bull/Metro fans were fond of it IIRC). It sounded really good in Columbus in 2013 and got picked up in a lot of promotional materials so it took off. Personally, I kind of hate it.
