So from the commentators' discussion, it seems Herdman can't be bothered to coach his team from the sideline until they start trailing...?
This is why I am not a fan of Canada games. This is becoming a body bag game. Also, the grass is a bit long and wet and neither team is prepared for it.
He likes to have a higher vantage point to start the game, then he usually comes down to the bench about 20 minutes in.
I was about to say Horan is playing the role Mewis was during the last game with her turnovers and then Mewis said "hold my beer."
So I guess tonight is Horan's night to be off...she and Mewis must be switching back and forth. EDIT: Sitruc and I are not the same person.
In Horan's defense, I believe it was her who had turnovers greatly increase after Mewis went out during the last game.
So they mentioned; and when he does come down, he apparently sends a member of his coaching staff up in his place to maintain that higher vantage point. Still, his coming down the bench only after his team concedes an opening goal in both matches of this series is open to many different interpretations, not all of them flattering.
Much better half than what I saw in the last game...and now I have to go run and catch a flight. Hope when I land, I see a decisive win!
Fleming for Canada was the best player on the pitch the previous game. Not tonight. Not yet anyway. .Quinn was second best player for Canada in previous game. Lousy tonight. So far. US looking much better tonight or Canada worse. Everything up the left side: Rapinoe and O'Hara. Press and Smith on the right side could take a nap between touches. Canada needs to sub out Kelly on the left. She's against Rapinoe and O'Hara and that's a mismatch for a rookie with not much defensive experience. I hope we see that tall drink of water Huitima, or whatever her name is, for Canada.
50' 1-1 Canada spring Prince running at speed past box top right, catching our line that high up. Prince leans past Dahlkemper's sideways lunge, outraces her to 6-top right. Backpass to Beckie trailing unmarked at 10m center, right instep shot to 2/5 right 1/2 high, behind Naeher's momentum and off her left hand, twists it aside and deflects into back right edge. Speed, speed, speed. Is O'Hara LB tonight? Whomever it was, she got caught upfield, not even in frame. This YouTube live stream has no scoreclock graphic.
