Records: Sporting Kansas City (8-4-6), 1st in West, MLS
Houston Dynamo (7-6-4), 2nd in West, MLS

This game is a double-header at BBVA Compass Stadium. One ticket gets you the Dynamo game and the Dash v. Boston Breakers game which will follow.

This is the second U.S. Open Cup game in 2017 for both teams. This is the first meeting between the two teams this year overall. They will play in MLS action later this year on August 26 and October 15. In 2016 Houston defeated SKC 3-1 in the 5th Round of the Open Cup on June 29 here in Houston. All-time in the tournament Houston has 1 win and 2 losses against Sporting. Kansas City has won the USOC title three times: 2004, 2012, and 2015.

The winner of this game moves on to host the Quarterfinals, July 7-16, against the winner of Dallas/Colorado.

Kansas City got to this game by beating Minnesota United (MLS) in the 4th round, 4-0, on June 14. Sporting's most recent game was a road win, 1-2, at the LA Galaxy on June 24. That makes them 2-1-2 in their last five league games scoring 6 goals and allowing 3. SKC is 3-6-1 in MLS road games this year. After the USOC game they will host the Portland Timbers on Saturday, July 1.

The Dynamo are now 12-11 on advancement all-time in the U.S. Open Cup. Against MLS teams in the tournament Houston is 3-8 but 3-4 at home. Overall the Dynamo are 7-0-2 in home games this year.

The Dynamo next travel to Colorado on July 1 and then host Montreal on Wednesday, July 5.

You could call the team at (713) 276-GOAL. Flash Seats probably isn't going to be much help since there aren't many people that already have tickets. This game is not part of the Dynamo season ticket package. I guess Dash season ticket holders could be selling tickets.

EDIT: I just checked. There are some tickets for sale starting at $20.

I would probably just walk up to the box office on Wednesday.

    runningoz,
you can probably just post a request here or on facebook. A friend who is a season ticket holder was offering his free tickets, apparently they gave STHs free tickets, and many wont be able to use them.

MLS has brief previews of all the Open Cup games:

    https://matchcenter.mlssoccer.com/m...ouston-dynamo-vs-sporting-kansas-city/preview

They may add more for our specific game later.

    Weather forecast for Wednesday evening:

    5:00 pm
    85F
    66% humidity
    wind 13 ESE
    partly cloudy
    24% chance of rain

There is a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon, never over 50%, and those should lessen later in the day. As the games go on that night the humidity will go up but the rain chances fall to 15%.

Well if anyone is just looking to make sure someone is in their seats I could use 2-4. If not, I'll buy the cheapest they have at the box office tomorrow. Gracias people. I really hope we advance in the Cup!

Dallas beats Colorado so the winner of this pairing will host Dallas at some point over the next couple of weeks.

If you don't mind me asking what did you pay? Are the general admission?

They called me 3 times yesterday but I was stuck in meetings. Debating on still going, depending on STH price.

I really wish I could turn the STH "points" into Dash tickets or tickets for tonights game. I don't need beer garden, player meet and greets, or seat upgrades. If I got free tickets to the Dash I'd probably spend money on beer which is more money in their pocket compared to what they get from me now.

I'm in the Supporter Section. We might have got a special price. I don't know. The tickets are labeled with the Supporter Section 217, not just general admission.

BTW, the tickets I bought are paper tickets, not Flash. That will probably limit the resale. I only see about 40 tickets for sale on Flash right now. Most of those are probably from Dash ticket holders.

    BTW...

Tickets are only 10 bucks for lower bowl

KC may be going for this they are bringing mostly 1st teamers and they still have their leading scorer Gerso available to play

This will be possibly be more difficult than last year

So we can just buy at the gate? I just checked the Dynamo site and the cheapest ticket is showing as 17 bucks plus the awesome online fees.

Any guess on what the Dynamo lineup is going to look like?

Against NCFC in the 4th round the Dynamo called up some RGV guys, both regular roster players who have been loaned down and also signed some players to 4 day contracts.)

Joe Willis; Kevin Garcia, Taylor Hunter, Jalil Anibaba, Dylan Remick; Eric Bird (RGV), Joe Holland (Jose Escalante 82), Memo Rodriguez (Jorginho James 111 (RGV)), Charlie Ward (RGV); Vicente Sánchez © (Ruben Luna 78 (RGV)), Andrew Wenger

Joe Holland, Jose Escalante, Taylor Hunter, and Memo Rodriguez mostly play for RGV but are on loan so they might be available tonight. Kevin Garcia has been used as a sub for the Dynamo a couple of times.

The Dynamo apparently did not call up any RGV Toros on short-term contracts for this game so it looks like Cabrera will only use players on the regular roster. I'd expect a lot of end-of-the-bench types with a couple of regular defenders and probably one of the forwards in there to start. If the game is close we might see some more regular starters in the 2nd half. Just my opinion.

We have "winnable" league games on Saturday and next Wednesday at Colorado and then Montreal at home so Cabrera is not going to run out the first team tonight.

I can't afford too much of a delay, have to go to a Village People concert right after the Dash match
