was it? when we're celebrating a washed up 30 year old jouneyman type player getting a few minutes and looking better than everyone... just wow.
I signed up to watch the EFL playoff games when they were being played. Enjoyed watching Tranmere, Charlton and Aston Villa win trophies for third or fourth place. There was much rejoicing. I cancelled after because I didn't think there was enough soccer games to keep watching. Will probably check it out in August or September though. Next season it's Crawley Town FC's turn to win a 4th place trophy and move from League 2 to League 1. Can't wait!
Rimando, at least, has class enough to call it quits. He knows he isn’t what he used to be and acknowledged it. Beckerman played pretty well in the first dozen games or so. But, as the season progresses his age is showing more and more. Petke really should have have rotated him out more if he wants Kyle to be halfway effective through the whole season. It’s too late now. And that knock he took 3 or 4 games ago isn’t helping. Also, I’m wondering if they rushed Everton back into duty too quickly.
RSL should play Putna (if he will be taking over for Rimando) more. MLS isn't going to do anything special for Rimando like the NBA did for Dr. J or Karl Malone, so play Putna for all the away games and Rimando for all the home games. That way, Putna gets good experience and the people who care about Rimando get to see him before he retires.
