So, if travel costs were such a big deal for the Aztex, Phil could have potentially just stuck it out here for one season then had a USL Mid-South Division to play in? One would assume that David Markley's presence at the USL AGM is part of the discussions USL mentions in their release.

The San Antonio news is interesting in that 1) The USL/SS&E are gambling on "soccer for a cause" not working out for 2012 2) The USL/SS&E are gambling on there not being a NASL for San Antonio to play in in 2012 or 3) USL/SS&E have the balls to field a second San Antonio team for an inaugural season in 2012.

I'd rather have any other league here then the USL. They colluded with the Aztexs in order to move them to Orlando. And now they can collect thousands of dollars in fees by charging some other group for the franchise rights in Austin.

Distance between Austin and Orlando 996 miles. Distance between San Juan, PR and Orlando 1038 miles. I know it is just one example of one away game, but it is irritating.

Methinks someone wants to sell Austin a monorail, err a soccer team...
