    USA's Improbable dream

Play nice kids and feel free to talk about the other match as I'm sure the TV announcers will.

First page, and I hope contrary to the consensus here that Casey starts and actually has two or three balls served to him in the air. If he does it is likely he could match our total scoring performance against Italy in matches that matter for the last three years.

Just got back from Bonnaroo and now it's time for the USMNT. Awesome. Here's hoping for a great game.

The Brazil -- Egypt result was not what I expected.

A late but fully deserved penalty too.

result? maybe as expected. but game? no.

if that usa lineup in the other thread is correct (it's probably not), then this game and result might be as expected.....

It was a shame that Egypt couldn't hold out but Brazil fully deserved the win. Zidan looked class for Egypt as well as their defender Saidi. I wouldn't be surprised if we see their names in the transfer markets soon. They certainly have the potential to give us some worries on the 21st.

those counting egypt as a sure win for the usa better reconsider....

egypt got killed on set plays, though, enopugh to give usa hope...

still, it's italy, and usa has it's hands full..

but as the underdog...usa likes it

I hope Casey starts. He is slow but so is Italy's D. He is very good in the air. Him and Jozy up front may cause some trouble in Italy's D

    Feilhaber is a little surprising.

Please be a 4-2-3-1. Feilhaber on the outside is a bad idea. Donovan and Dempsey on the wings with Feilhaber in the middle is a good idea.

So, presumably Feilhaber at left mid. Where did you get the 4-4-2? I just saw these names on Fifa.com for the team.

Feilhaber as a RM. He has the tools, but he is more of a CM.

Damn shame about Boca not being able to go. That's the lineup I figured Bob was going to roll out. I just hope Gooch can body down Luca.

Didn't think of that. I think that's a pretty good idea, other than the fact that I think Donovan is going to get himself pinned into the left corner.

I agree. He's been no where to be seen for awhile and he gets a start?? I'd rather see Torres or Adu, but at least Run DMB is on the bench where he belongs until he regains some form.

I really hope Spector can stay healthy for the next 13 months as I feel a lot better when he's part of the back 4.

Time to get my drink on!!!!
