It's a mess because technical difficulties are inevitable for some fraction of attendees, and we'll have to count on the ticket office customer service being able to handle it efficiently on the day.
Ah good, I'm crashing with a family member a couple blocks from there. We may just walk back across OSU.
I don't think there's an Android equivalent to the way Apple Wallet works for holding Ticketmaster tickets for offline access. The regular Ticketmaster app works for this purpose if the tickets are in an ordinary TM account, but not in this case where the tickets are in the USSF portal. So I'll do a screenshot and also keep open the browser tab with my ticket, as backup in case I can't get a data signal at the stadium.
I'll know if I'm going to have 2 spare tickets this evening. And a friend has 4 tickets he is no longer going to use. PM if interested
I see the Mapfre Stadium website lists Budweiser and Heineken, in addition to some local craft beers. Heineken owns Dos Equis and Tecate, so that's what I'd expect if you want Mexican beer. Anheuser-Busch (i.e., Budweiser) only owns Estrella Jalisco and Montejo in the US (Modelo/Corona abroad). Modelo family, including Corona, sold in the US is owned by a separate American company called Constellation. You basically can't get a major Mexican beer in the US owned by Mexicans, though they're all made by Mexicans.

For all of you who are going to carry the torch for us in Columbus on Friday, be relentlessly loud. There is a reason that we have the success that we do in Columbus and it ain't Pixie dust on the field or some paranormal activity. It's because that place has been very uncomfortable for Mexico to play. Be loud, be obnoxious. If you need 4 beers in you to get to 11 on your amplifier, drink 5. Be that fan. Our players are hounded by a$$hats all over the globe when we play, so let's return the favor in spades. Don't let Mexico have one instant of peace. Send 'em home wishing they had never heard of Columbus.
Be loud and obnoxious, but he civil. Given the political landscape, I might throw up if I hear some "build the wall" or "go back to your country" or "mow my lawn" BS.
After last night, im seriously worried. I'm mexican-american and Im very prideful of the US in everything other than soccer (I grew up watching it because of relatives). I thought going to this game would be an incredible experience. I'm wondering if I should be worried over my safety. Having said that, I'm bracing myself to hear many Trump related comments my way. I know the Mexican fans arent the most respectful when it comes to soccer games (i.e. throwing beer on the pitch...i hate that!). How has the sentiment towards opposing fans been during these games in Columbus?
FYI, if anyone is looking for tickets, there are now some available on ticketmaster from ticketmaster, not the reselling site. Some midfield lower lever seats for $200 plus fees.
One of the game info links to ussoccer.com said there will be a stadium wide overheard card thing as the players walk out
I've been to three of these. One time a friend and I were the only U.S. supporters packed inside a section of Mexico fans (and when I say packed, I mean standing on our bench shoulder to shoulder). Another game we were in a U.S. Supporter section and a handful of Mexico fans were among us. Both times each group ribbed each other, but it was all in good fun, nothing malicious. Outside and on the way into the stadium I experienced the same sort of feeling/atmosphere each time. I can't speak for everyone's experience, but I haven't seen anything that would make me worried about it being a problem.
Oh yeah there are always these (even at non US/Mex matches). It may be better now with the tickets being a bit more pricey and shutting some of these out, but there is usually a contingent of the casual/'bro' fans who just come for the excuse to wear full on flag print and drink bud light while shouting USA for 90 minutes. After each one of these games I always run into people who I know have no interest in Soccer who attended because it's essentially a big party. Luckily I haven't that the pleasure of sitting near them in any of these games I've been to.
Thanks!!! I'm still very excited as this will be my first Mex vs US game. The good natured jabs is expected and actually makes things fun but as long as it doesnt take a viscous turn for the worst. 2 more days!
This will be my 4th game. When you sit next to folks, they are fine, even nice...but there are always the douche bags that find you to say their racist shit.... On a different note... what is the deal with parking? anybody have a link?
You'll be fine. I mean I'd fully expect to have some awful things said to you. Varying from simple cursing to genuine racist garbage. But actual violence is extremely unlikely unless you escalate the situation. The thing you have to realize of course is that even though there are US fans who say these things, there are more US fans who hate the people who say them. I personally am more worried about US fans fighting each other based on this stuff than USA v Mexico fans
