In an interesting but long overdue move the US Rugby Union has given the Head Coach job to Scott Johnson who takes up the position next week in San Diego.
Johnson has been a former Wallabies attack coach since 2006 and was at last years World Cup, and previously a caretaker coach for Wales.
The last World Cup saw Australia lacking enough talent to get to the final but Johnson laid out the attack scenarios for the team.
He made the following comments about US Rugby –
“A few of their World Cup Squad have retired and I have no idea at all about how strong they are. At some stage in the future, US Rugby will be pretty good but I am just going over there with eyes wide open.”
We wish him luck –He is going to need it where Rugby has been a minority sport since the 1880`s.
