I am with you. But all he has done is talked about how he doesn't have any time with the team. And you are going to spend what precious little time you do have, with Morris wide right, Adams at rb, Ream at lb???? We can hope he is crossing off all of the obvious but dumb ideas now so we don't have to see them in important matches. And WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU NOT INCLUDE WEAH AND SARGENT in this roster????
If all we get from this is that Brooks-Long is a good, functioning CB pair, then this friendly has given us gold.
We have 2 young but world class DCM's and we play Bradley there??? We have a premier league rt back playing right forward. We have a bundesliga best XI DCM playing rt back. And who the heck is Lewis??? He's better than Weah or Sargent???
This was a second (third ?) rate performance by both teams. We, the US, lucked into a 1-0 win but we also showed that we still have zero idea how to attack. It seems that many people, including the clueless announcers, think that this is somehow good for development. Well folks, it ain't.
They're a team in transition like us. Of note: we had some decent pressing, no Ecuadorian had time to do anything, they had to release the ball right away. That is good.
Happy with the win but upset about McKennie... that’s at least out for month best case scenario. And the team looked extremely disjointed.
I expected noting from the US, and well, I was right. I ca t remember the last time that we actually looked like an above decent squad.
This was an absolute quagmire. I'm glad it's over so I can do more work. That's how bad it was. Nice to see WT outperform MB, who gave the ball away once Ecuador looked in his direction. Ecuador just packed it in, and we had no answers. Such is the problem when you're always trying to dribble the ball into the net...
Is it too much to ask for "very good coaches" to coach our National Team??? The performance in and of itself was not awful. But all of the concerns came to fruition with a coach as inexperienced as GGG. 1. No adjustments 2. Game plan had little to no impact on the attacking side 3. Obvious decisions not obvious to the only man who gets to make them 4. Bizarre player choices Just seems like he is WAYYYY overthinking things.
The attack looked incoherent for long stretches. Need to see more overlapping runs in the attack. I think GB wants this, I will give him more time with these guys to get them doing what he wants. I saw a lot of unoccupied spaces not taken up by a US player when we had possession, especially in the middle of the park at times. Would like to see a better effort attacking through the middle.
one thing I can say. Bradley did not outplay Trapp at all. Since Equator didnt attack much, I dont think we learned much. GB better move Taylor to replace Mckennie on Tuesday. He spent little time at RB tonight and it almost cost us a few times That being said, GB gets a win of a off crap goal and and we are playing like total garbage Im totally worried about our future. GB looks like JK
Ecuador bunkering in a friendly actually gave us an unexpected chance to see how GreGG might approach something he will see time and time again against CONCACAF competition. I hope he learns from this and figures out how to adjust.
I am afraid at the answer there. If he is a capable in-match manager, why wouldn't he use this match as a chance to make some in match adjustments? It does no one any good to keep banging your head against the wall, only to learn that it hurts to band your head against the wall!
