Can you really think of a more Union thing to happen than what happened to Blake? They finally have a guy that they can sell for millions in the middle of an elite tournament performance...and he gets a major injury.

    Cursed.

    EDIT: THANK SOCCER JESUS!!!

Just showed him talking to Joey after the game, he looked fine and in good spirits.

Side note: great finish to the game!

Blake wins Keeper of the tournament.

Chris gets to lift a trophy.

7 stitches, 10 days ... then day-to-day after that. Means we got J-Mac starting for NER and FCD, at least.

I take the WC elimination for what it truly is - the wakeup call that USSF has needed for far too many years. I'm fine with this happening now. 2018 would have been another 0-1 point tournament for the US. Instead we get the slap in the face that should FINALLY tear this house down and rebuild it.

    ...but we probably won't. :whistling:

Now we will have to endure countless neckbeards calling for pro/rel in MLS, while ignoring that many of the Central American stars play in MLS now (and are rarely considered top players).

A good start would be to stop awarding "top young coach" awards to Curtin.

At least USMNT players in MLS will be able to concentrate on league play next year. They are always exhausted after they come back from the WC.

Oh yeah, forgot that MLS will continue to play games while the World Cup is going on. More so now that the US is out. Not like many of the MLS players will be going to play in Russia so may as well.

Doesn't matter if MLS plays during the Cup or not. Being on a WC team really drains a player for league play.

The upside here is that we can all spend the next year figuring out which actually competitive team to root for next year. And the bandwagon fans can skip a cycle.

I'll be supporting Argentina, like I did in 1986. Union fans are welcome on our bandwagon.

I am supporting Iceland. If they make a run like they did in the Euros, it will be fun. If they crash out, nobody will notice I supported a random team.

For me, the worse thing about the US loss was letting down my guard and venturing back onto the US Mens forums. Is there a bunch of more poorly informed and prejudiced self-proclaimed soccer fans than on those boards?
