From a competitive standpoint it would be good if Azerbaijan qualify through league D since they would have home advantage for at least 2 games at the Euros. Of course it would also enhance the degree of unfairness.
And they got a 0-0 in their group game against Germany, which contributed to Germany's early exit from the competition. If the Nations League D playoff winner manages anything like that then I won't begrudge them their place.
Still ranks as the worst German team I've ever seen. Even after drawing Latvia they had a great chance to advance from the group stage, but lost to Czech Republic "B" team!
Group A: Rome (Italy) and Baku (Azerbaijan) Group B: Saint Petersburg (Russia) and Copenhagen (Denmark) Group C: Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Bucharest (Romania) Group D: London (England) and Glasgow (Scotland) Group E: Bilbao (Spain) and Dublin (Republic of Ireland) Group F: Munich (Germany) and Budapest (Hungary) So if both home teams from each group qualify, we know they going to be in the same group? Like if Italy and Azerbaijan qualify we know they going to be in group A and a draw will decide which team host their head-to-head match. Is that right?
????????????????????????????? What are you talking about? What are those groups? Not Nations League groups. Romania isnot in the same slot as the Dutch.
haha ops wrong thread, sorry I was talking about Euro 2020. Those are the host countires, my question was if the host countries qualify we know for sure the Dutch going to be in the same group with Romania ?
Infantino wanted to have a vote on the WC for club teams and a World wide nations league under the FIFA umbrella, which was obviously an attempt to put his sticky FIFA fingers in the treasure chest of the UEFA in a FIFA meeting in Kigali, Rwanda. The UEFA put their gun against his head with the threat of a walk out if this was going to take place. So shithead buckled and took the crums of a commision going to study the plans.
Croatia's main purpose is to get one of the 10 seeds for the euro qualifiers. I don't know what will happen in few days against Spain and then England but at least now we come back with a real squad. vrsaljko lovren vida rakitic modric brozovic rebic kramaric perisic should play. And few from the u21 players that finished at the top of their qualifiers group got a call. Brekalo 19 y o Wolfsburg winger Vlasic 20 y o CSKA Moskva attacking midfielder Caleta-Car 21 OM center back Disappointed not to see Benkovic who is probably one of the future best CB in the world and Sosa (injured) along them.
Serbia with the likes of luka jovic, zivkovic, milinkovic-savic will soon be one of the hottest generations in europe. Between 2022 and 2028 they will do damages.
So when we come with a real international level starting 11 it is not the same. Thoughts for people that thought we could not beat a team like Spain ^^ Now we are probably seeded for the euro qualifiers.
Bosnia promoted to league “A” No. Ireland relegated to league “C” Finland promoted to league "B" Estonia relegated to league “D” England v Croatia with an intriguing match coming up on Sunday. Winner goes to NL championship playoffs, but the loser gets relegated to league "B". A draw would mean Spain goes to the playoffs, and England gets relegated (unless its a 0-0 draw, then Croatia gets relegated).
We don't care about being relegated we will come back to league A anyway. Most important was to show again we can beat anyone. We will be seeded at euro qualifiers, qualify for euro and be a threat there again.
Amazing that Croatia with a population of under 4.2 million can field such a strong team of stellar players on the world stage. The USA v England friendly was aired concurrently with Spain v Croatiia and with 60 x the population, the USA looked like they just learned how to walk forget about playing the game. Perhaps as a gesture of good will and charity the Croatian nation can send a Peace Corps like cadre of soccer coaches to the USA to lift them out of the football dark ages and into the 21st century. The point is whatever they do, however it's done, they know what they are doing while the USA remains clueless
Well two things on that: - It may hurt your FIFA ranking playing against weaker opposition in League B (although I haven't researched how the FIFA rankings are being calculated now). - We don't know yet how the Nations League will be linked with WC qualifying. Maybe they won't be linked at all, but if it is then presumably its advantageous to be in League A.
Holland beats France 2-0. Germany relegated! Denmark promoted to League A; Ireland relegated to League C/ Slovenia relegated to League D.
It will be funny to see uefa daring not to seed for world cup qualifiers a nation that missed only one in the last 20 years and reached the last final. Anyway with us, if we got to be in the second hat...then the team that will be seeded in our group might be in trouble again ) I believe uefa will have the intelligence to keep nations league rankings linked to euro only.
What's so daring about it? It's just a matter of following the rules. They dared to put the Orange team in the Euro 2008 in one group with the finalists of the WC 2006. That are three teams that have more on their resume than your country.
Daring to give an advantage to a team such as bosnia-hercegovina in the next world cup qualifiers rankings cause they won a group ahead of austria and northern ireland over a nation that reached the round 16 of last euro, the final of last world cup with official wins since 2 years over nations such as spain, england and argentina... Well i believe they won't do it and that they will give germany and others a chance to come back to the league they belong before use this ranking for another competition ^^
Most likely FIFA's ranking will be used in next year's draw. In that case Croatia are 100% certain to be one of the top-seeds. It's looking better now, yet Croatia could still drop down to pot 2. Iceland and one other League A team will end up in pot 2. Most likely that will be either Germany or Poland but both of them can still overtake Croatia. - Croatia had top-seed status during the 2018 WCQs. Iceland was the pot 2 team that was drawn into that group and they came top. - Croatia were top-seeds during the 2014 WCQs. Belgium had a horrible ranking prior to that draw and were in pot 3. Belgium still won that group comfortably (9pts clear of runners-up Croatia). - Croatia were top-seeds during the 2010 WCQs. Both England and Ukraine finished on more points than Croatia. => Maybe it would be better for Croatia to avoid top-seed status.
