That's ridiculous! Even the Daily Mail gave Messi a 9.5 rating and they are quite strict with their player ratings (e.g. Busquets got a 7.0 despite his 100% pass completion rate for the game)!

 

Surely though Mbappe nor Pogba can be put in the top 3 given the meh performances with their club the past year. Also the manner in which France marched to the WC final (not showing much attacking initiative in 5 of their 7 games) doesn't help the chances of any of their players in the individual award voting.

I agree, but lets face it - these awards almost never go to defenders. Especially young ones.

 

Sneijder won everything in 2010 and runner up in WC that year (scored 5 goals), not in top 3.
