PBP: UCL - Manchester United FC vs Sevilla FC - March 13, 2018 [R]

Jose may have gotten Liverpool right, but he's got this totally wrong.

 

Very disappointing game from United so far.

 

It's disjointed to fck. If we meet a a bighitter we're screwed. maybe Sevilla will be doing us a favour.

 

Worse thing is the tempo - this is La Liga tempo not EPL tempo and that suits them way better than us.

 

Sanchez will you complete a ********ing pass?!

 

Funny how raising the tempo just a little bit, changes things for the better. Keep this going please. Sevilla have it way too easy so far.

 

We're asking to get bounced on away goals with this style.

 

Lingard and Sanchez have been total zeroes so far.

 

Called for United to not be calculating and just to go out and play. That looks like it was too much to expect, by the looks of it.

Good strike from Fellaini, but well saved by Rico.

 

Fox is worthless. This is the third time they've failed to show a relevant replay.

 

Lingards run takes everyone by surprise by being so out of character for the game.

Made movement look like cheating.

Keep playing like this and it will be a coin-toss who goes through.

Change of attitude and tempo needed for the second.

 

Not good enough. Very disappointing first half.

Would consider that change for the 2nd half. He hasn't done much of anything, especially since he's supposed to be in his favorite position...

 

That's a disgraceful half of football. I've seen better football in a conference game. Sevilla look bad...and somehow we look worse.

That's not a backwards step for us...it's 20 steps backwards. I'm actually disgusted with all aspects of that half: Commitment, tactics, ability. Truly shocking.

 

Reversion to the one man midfield that was a staple of our worst stretches this season way always going to be a questionable approach and so far has worked exactly as well as you'd expect. I think this is Jose's idea of what an "attacking" team looks like but we don't look all that dangerous going forward. Sevilla are awful going forward but if they fluke their way into one we'd be in real trouble.

 

Pogba or McTominay for Fellaini.

 

Surprised to see people questioning the attitude of the team though. Thought we looked at it, but a team with a broken system is like a bike with a broken chain - pedaling faster is not the solution.
