Appears to be a new competition to be launched by UAFA, appears to be replacing the Arab Champions League as we knew it.

From what I've worked out so far:

-Preliminary round split into Asia and Africa
-Features 6 teams in each side of the draw, so three games in each section played on a home and away basis

    Asian Section Draw:
Al Oruba (Oman) : Shabab Al Dhaheriya (Palestine)
Al Fateh (Saudia) : Al Jahra (Kuwait)
Al Hadd (Bahrain) : Shabab Al Ordun (Jordan)

Ties to be played on 18 and 19 September

    African Section Draw:
USM Alger (Algeria) : Tevragh Zeina (Mauratania)
Ismaily (Egypt) : Kharthoum Al Watani (Sudan)
CA Bizertin (Tunisia) : Raja Casablanca (Morocco)

Games played between October and December

Can anyone else shed anymore light on this competition? Official name, further rounds, etc??

    Another game to be added:

Al Shabab Ibb (Yemen) : Nejmeh (Lebanon)

    Games kick off on Tuesday.

In the African section, currently a round robin preliminary group stage competition is being played between Steel Nouvel (Comoros), Garde Republiciane (Djibouti) and Sahafi (Somalia). Winner enters round one.

Still not entirely sure on the procedure of this tournament. Apparently Al Nasr (Saudi Arabia), Al Baq'aa (Jordan) and Al Arabi (Kuwait) receive a bye to the 2nd round.

There was news at one point about the Qatari Football Association having a meeting about which team to put forward, but nothing seems to have come from this.

Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya is struggling in crossing the Palestinian boarders.
Ok I have a question, since Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya is based in Baghdad and forced travel to Erbil and playing their home match in Kurdistan region and not playing it in Baghdad ( assuming because Baghdad is not safe). What a bout a whole country that just went out from war a week ago? its safe right? safer than Baghdad right? WTH Why the double standards with our teams? the match in Iraq should be played in Baghdad in the first place. Whats the difference playing in Baghdad and Erbil you say? A Full-packaged Stadium. :)

Al-Jawiya crossed the Palestinian boarders without their coach Ayoub Odisho and 3 other players. Al-Jawiya may play the match without coach.

    Asian 2nd round completed

Al Hadd 0:2 Al Nassr - Al Nassr advance 5:0
Al Fateh 2:2 Al Arabi - Al Arabi advance 5:4
    Al Baqa'a 3:0 Al Shaab Ibb - Al Baqa'a advance 3:1
Shabab Al Dhahiriya 0:1 Al Quwa Al Jawiya - Al Quwa advance 4:0

So we have 7 quarter finalists so far:

    Al Nassr (Saudi Arabia)
    Al Arabi (Kuwait)
    Al Baqa'a (Jordan)
    Al Quwa Al Jawiya (Iraq)
    USM Alger (Algeria)
    Ismaily (Egypt)
    Raja Casablanca (Morocco)

So, one more spot to be filled by either Steal Nouvel (Comoros) or CR Belouizdad (Algeria). Steal Nouvel lead 3:0 after the 1st leg was awarded due to CR Belouizdad didn't show up. The 2nd leg takes place this Friday.

Raja now is topping the Moroccan League and they have Yassin Al-Salhi the one who won the Arab Nations Cup top scorere award 7 also scored against Iraq. I think its a tough one for Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya especially Al-Quwa is inconstant in the Iraqi League.
