    It’s really not unusual for there to be high numbers of players invited to the National Training Centers from the MLS clubs. This isn’t a national team camp. The last one in Chicago there were that many for both 04 and 05 between the Chicago and Indiana Fire.

    Lets say they have a pool of 100 players for each year that they are monitoring. Is it that unlikely that about 10 per year could be from one academy? There is not equal talent spread across the different MLS academies. Certain academies have no pro prospects or only one or two in their academy, other academies have many per age group.

    That's improvement of course. Years ago another Surf (and later Irvine Strikers) player Mikki Hoyos had to go to Argentina as he wasn't good enough for regional ODP.
