https://srunited.com/2018/11/13/05-boys-ynt/ https://www.instagram.com/p/BqKhiAKgXpG/ A USYNT ID camp will be held starting November 20th, and three Santa Rosa United players have been called up, confirmed by SRU and by one of the players on his IG. I'm assuming this is a U14 camp for '05s, as all three players called are '05s.
21?? That is the most outrageous thing I've ever heard in my life. Even with the amount of players these camps bring, that's an absurd number, right? They're sending 12 '04s? How did US Soccer even scout that many LAFC players at once?
It’s really not unusual for there to be high numbers of players invited to the National Training Centers from the MLS clubs. This isn’t a national team camp. The last one in Chicago there were that many for both 04 and 05 between the Chicago and Indiana Fire.
Lets say they have a pool of 100 players for each year that they are monitoring. Is it that unlikely that about 10 per year could be from one academy? There is not equal talent spread across the different MLS academies. Certain academies have no pro prospects or only one or two in their academy, other academies have many per age group.
Enjoyed watching @evanrotundo10 and his teammate last night at the Southwest U.S. Soccer YNT Identification Center. pic.twitter.com/1soZ3IwA87— Dom Rotundo (@domrotundo) November 15, 2018
That's improvement of course. Years ago another Surf (and later Irvine Strikers) player Mikki Hoyos had to go to Argentina as he wasn't good enough for regional ODP.
