I am guessing that AJ is Mike Jeffries's son?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Jeffries_(soccer) And, to answer my own question, yes he is: A native of Bethesda, Md., Jeffries and his wife Terry are the parents of Kaitlin (14), A.J. (11) and Nathan (8). http://www.goduke.com/ViewArticle.d...33&DB_OEM_ID=4200&ATCLID=241212&Q_SEASON=2007 Cap Nathan Jeffries now!
From U.S. Soccer: The team used a pair of friendlies against local Under-15/16 Development Academy clubs on Monday, May 4 to train, falling to Real So Cal (0-2) but defeating Arsenal (3-0). On Wednesday, May 6, one of the U-14 split squads took on the Los Angeles Aztecs U-16s, suffering a close defeat while the other topped the LA Rampage 6-1 behind a hat trick from forward Paul Arriola. Head coach Manny Schellscheidt will gather his team again in June for another eight day domestic training camp at a location to be determined. http://www.ussoccer.com/articles/viewArticle.jsp_14352386.html Curious: Anyone know anything about these assistant coaches? Assistant Coach: Mario Prata (Boston, Ma.) Assistant Coach: Manni Klar (Albuquerque, N.M.) Assistant Coach: Louis Mateus (Chicago, Ill.) Assistant Coach: Robert Montgomery (New York, N.Y. ) Assistant Coach: Hubert Birkenmeir (Newark, N.J.)
Are you being a wise guy? One name stands out big time and I know Manny knows/knew him so it makes sense...if it is the same guy. Can't believe there are two names like that out there. Question - Which player shut out the glory days NY Cosmos while playing for the bottom of the table, division 2 team, on their tour of a Euro country that exposed the old NASL for what it really was?
No. But... I do recognize Birkenmeir's name, now that you mention it. And, I should always do my own looking up anyway... Prata appears to run the Revs' youth setup: http://www.revolutionsoccer.net/youthsoccer/index.cfm?ac=coachbio&bio=33664 Klar runs this organization: http://www.successinsoccer.com/ Mateus heads up the Fire's youth organization: http://web.mlsnet.com/news/team_new...ent_id=105229&vkey=pr_chf&fext=.jsp&team=t100 It looks like Montgomery left Adelphi U. to work with the Red Bulls' youth: http://www.aupanthers.com/sports/m-soccer/spec-rel/083007aad.html And here's Hubert's bio: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hubert_Birkenmeier
Well Dave I should never assume somones age. My fault, but you are so thorough I wasn't sure if it was a trick question.
I don't know much about this age group but do you think they will be choosing mostly the same kids from this camp for next one? Also I see there are a lot of academy kids do you think they will keep bringing them back or pick more from the regional teams?
This thread came up in a search for something else and I have to say, this doesn't seem like a bad yield of adult players for a random U14 camp.
The kid having the last laugh is Zach Pfeffer He's now at Goldman-Sachs................. https://www.linkedin.com/in/zach-pfeffer-8b1b62106
And yet that is the best tie he could wear for a profile picture? I wouldn't hire him looking like that.
He's not the only MLS player turned financial advisor. Will Hesmer has the red power tie..................... https://www.raymondjames.com/hesmerwealth/about-us/bio?_=William.Hesmer
