Well Jamaica is not better than Mexico or Panama so this should be another walk in park for the US unless, for some reason, the US beats themselves and that is VERY VERY unlikely due to the level of talent that exists on the US side. The US could call up the fourth or fifth or sixth best set of players that are in the pool and still beat the likes of Jamaica rather handily. Shoot our U17s could, probably, beat Jamaica without much consternation.

The only competitive match, baring divine intervention, the US will have is the final vs Canada and that match is really without meaning so the US will qualify for the WWC after never playing even one match with any real challenge.

It is the nature of CONCACAF that there are two teams with good quality then three or four that can play each other pretty evenly but cannot usually play well against any quality team and then there are the retched refuse.

Sometimes Mexico can almost play with the other two but for even Mexico or Costa Rica to win against the top two one of those two must pretty much self destruct.

So, one might ask, why should these tournaments get played? It is because in football things can happen that cause upsets in the most lopsided of match-ups. Or, as I have said before, sometimes a hot keeper can flat turn a match upside-down.

In this match I expect the US to score 5 or so. I do not really expect more because there is no longer any goal difference to worry about. Of course that has never much stopped the US from running a score before so 8 or 9 or even more is possible.

Yes in dee dee do boys and girls, the State of Texas has once again opened its arms to lovingly embrace the return of their favorite daughters who comprise the Greatest Team on the Planet.

Don’t forget your rain gear. Ah see, old Geezers like me, when we are not extolling the supreme nature of the USWNT………we talk about the weather. I’d pay 1,000 bucks to see the Sun. I just hope that the Tifway 419 Bermuda Grass at Toyota Stadium holds up.

The NFL is insignificant. Sorry Julie, your family has it 1/2 right.

How awkward is it when Lalas keeps saying the current team is better defensively than the 2015 team with Kling and Rampone sitting right there?

    Damn Rapinoe!

That was a strike. The entire time someone was pissing me off by making an offside run

Speaking of... did Morgan get away with handling in the box a moment ago when trying to control the ball?

Goodness that was a ball from Dunn. She had to chase the ball out to her and then she put in a good cross from near the corner toward three in the box.

    Ertz makes it 3-0

A Tobin Heath brace in the first half hour? No objections here.

From those two assists, I gotta think the Thorns chemistry might make for a good Horan-Heath partnership on the national team.

The ball from Dunn was so freaking amazing. Now that it is 4-0, I have lost a bit of interest. At this point, I am actually hoping for Jamaica to sub off Bunny Shaw, to keep her fresh for the game that matters against Panama. I want to see Jamaica get through.
