And it all come down to another thrilling re-match.
from the reports and the matchraker i would say that the game could have gone either way. This time the Canada U-19 didn't dissapoint the loyal home fans. :)
The result place Canada as number one seed in the CONCACAF heading to the U-19 World Championships in Thailand wich means they will avoid Germany, Brazil and other two 2002 semi-finalist.

Has anyone heard anything about Randy Waldrum from Notre Dame not releasing his U-19 players for the U-19 World Cup? Just heard that today, and thought maybe it was a possible explanation as to why Jen Buckowski (sp??, sorry!) was dropped from the roster. Maybe Kerri Hanks wasn't affected since she isn't enrolled yet? Aren't there Canadians on Notre Dame's roster that this would affect? Anybody heard anything about Waldrum or other college coaches not releasing U-19 players?

College coaches are under NO obligation to release any players. The problem is, I am sure that you know, is that college soccer in the US (and High School soccer for that matter) is not under the USSF and therefore not under FIFA. So, there is no pressure or rules that force college coaches to release players for the national teams. Frankly, if I were a college coach and one of my best players wanted to leave in the middle of the season, I would refuse too.

Of course, in doing so, that gives other coaches recruiting ammunition as far as trying to get players who have aspirations of joining the US team - they could say "Yeah, coach so-and-so won't let his/her players go to camps, and it cost them the chance to make the US team..."

Canadian, Katie Thorlakson comes to mind. After SMU stopped Canadian players from competing for Canada at the Gold Cup/WWC 03 qualifying they all transferred out. It was a stupid, short sighted, no-win move by the SMU coach and he got his just rewards.
