I think you're making a lot of assumptions about Aranguiz. None of us have ever seen him play. I don't know why you're assuming he'll be handed the starting #10 job. Could that happen? Sure. I don't know. I find it hard to believe that he'll step off the plane and be a starter right away. FCD's not giving up on Paxton by any means. He'll get more chances, and he needs to take advantage of them. That's the case with 18 year olds around the world. Gotta prove to your veteran teammates and the coaching staff that you can do the job.

There is, by the way, no coach in MLS with more job security than Oscar Pareja.

I didn't say Aranguiz will definitely start right away or anything like that. Once he's "settled in", he won't be competing for a role, IMO. Or if he does, it'll be with the other big signings, it won't be a competition with players like Pomykal, Ferreira or any players that didn't come with transfer fees from abroad.

I'm only saying that I take exception to what you said about a competition between Pomykal and Aranguiz. Because when Pomykal eventually doesn't play over Aranguiz, I hope this isn't weaponized as something against Pomykal, as we've seen happen with other young Americans.
