Per Wikipedia, I'm not sure it's true, U.S. Soccer website hasn't reported anything yet, looks like he was replaced. I'll keep looking for sources.
The father of Pele is running Bradenton? Is he doing it through a medium since he died several years ago? I'm not saying that this isn't true - just that it will take a little extra effort to make this work on a day in/day out basis. Major props to US Soccer for "looking outside the box" for their next coaching choice.
I don't think that is him. It looks strange, but Wiki hasn't replaced the name or report it for vandalism, people update that everyday(no shit), but I'll keep looking. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/João_Ramos <- Nothing is on there
So I guess Wilmer Cabrera is still U-17 coach? I remember him making noises about how the players weren't getting enough professional experience compared to our competitors......does he expect different results if we continue to draw kids almost exclusively from Bradenton? One wonders why he would keep the job if he felt that way.........
Maybe that was a subtle way of saying the Bradenton model doesn't work and should be put to rest. The rest of the U.S. set up has let its coaches go and did so as a run up to Jurgen's appointment. Seems to me that if Wilmer were on the way out it would've happened earlier as well. Maybe Claudio has plans for him.....with a more "professional" team.
There are alot of very talented young players who are not playing professionally. Gil wasn't at that age and players like Michael Hoyos and Vilyan Bijev went from amateur clubs to good pro teams.
First step toward using zombie players. Imagine a team that never ages and can play together at the U17 level for decades. They would be unstoppable! Especially if they consume the brains of the opposition.
This reminds me when kids turn in papers with wikipedia as their citations. You do realize you can change that back to Wilmer Cabrera right now right? Heck you could make Jose Mourinho our U-17 Coach.
