He didn't when he started his campaign. I believe he talked himself into it before he was elected. But he certainly regrets it now. He wanted the power. He wanted the money. He wanted people to love him. But the power wasn't of the kind he thought it was. The money is going to get him in fantastic trouble. And in a few years every conservative in America is going to wish they never heard the name Donald Trump.

I'm happy that becoming President will give Trump the comeuppance he so richly deserved for so long. And I'm sad that so many had to (and will) suffer so much to make it happen.

He's one Boarder I'd be happy to evict.

On a serious note, this guy can barely read or write, yet he shrugs off climate science because, well, he knows better. Then half the country nods in agreement. I can't even.

I didn't read The Weekly Standard, but skimming it, I can see why it failed. It is old-school conservatism. It has articles that cite intellectuals and artists, such as the one below. Today's right has no interest in intellectuals or artists, and the left of course isn't interested in supporting wannabe Republicans. So, kaput.

If I saw it around, I'd check out the reviews/cultural reporting in the back. Damn good stuff.

According to David Br***s, MLS's Uncle Phil Anschutz shut it down, and will likely use it's subscriber list to expand a version of the Washington Times. Which is about 45 points lower on the IQ scale.

You probably mean the Washington Examiner. The Washington Times is the (former?) Unification Church owned newspaper.

A wall isn't going to save any money. As Captain Spock said, "As a matter of cosmic history, it has always been easier to destroy than to create", and that is especially true of constructed things. So as any military engineer of the last 10,000 years knows, a fixed defense (wall, wire fence, minefield, whatever) is useless unless it is actively guarded. There already exists a wall across much of California, and there is a guy whose job is to drive along the wall all day every day and weld up all the holes made in 20 seconds by $26 Harbor Freight cut-off tools. So besides the unfathomable cost of the wall itself is the cost of patrolling, protecting, and maintaining it.

I said all this before, right? I feel like I said this before. Trump isn't listening to me.

This kind of thinking will probably eventually drive me insane, but isn’t retaliation pretty much by definition justified? Unless it’s wildly disproportionate.
