Once all is said and done I'm expecting well over 60K. Once the kickoff series starts and ESPN goes into full blown World Cup PR mode the buzz will be incredible. Walk-up sales should be huge for this one.
Good man! I'll be going by Cigar City before hitting the road and will pick up whatever they have canned from that week. Also might bring some growlers from Three Palms and ESB, time permitting.
PM me if you still need a ride. We're staying at the Fairfield Inn just up the road and will leave our car there before heading to Lynch's but can drop you off on the way. Should have room for two.
Per Steven Goff's,Soccer Insider Twitter page. 32K tickets sold for Jacksonville,so far. USA v Scotland drew 44K in 2012. #USMNT ticket sales updates: 20,000 for Azerbaijan Tues in SF, 32,000 for Nigeria June 7 in Jacksonville 470339142274936832 is not a valid tweet id
The first 3,000 fans at the Jacksonville Suns game on 6/7 at 3:00 will receive a USMNT scarf. The ballpark is adjacent to EverBank Field.
I guess we'll find out tonight if they do this for the SF match but are they giving out scarves again like they did for the Hex matches?
Thinking of making the drive up Saturday. How is traffic control for that ball park? Am I looking at easy access or a horror show?
Do they share a parking lot? I would gladly go to the baseball game for a few hours if I wouldn't have to move my car to another lot. I'm gonna be there with my wife and 14 month old so I'm looking for things to occupy our day prior to the game.
Its really easy access. I've been there for several Georgia-Florida games where the attendance is 70,000+ and its easy to get to the stadium on MLK from I-95. Coming through the heart of downtown is even very simple. Where would you be coming from?
The water taxis will NOT be running on game day. The current operator is shutting down operations on June 6 due to a dispute with the city.
That is going to suck. I picked my hotel because of the water taxi. There will be a lot of money to be made. Hopefully it will be up and running by that time.
Per US Soccer's Twitter page,35K tickets sold so far! Come on,let's sell out EverBank Field! 35,000 sold in Jacksonville; should be a great crowd! 35,000 sold in Jacksonville; should be a great crowd! Come out and see the #USMNT off to Brazil on June 7! #USAvNGA http://t.co/CrXsrQteA1— U.S. Soccer Men's National Team (@USMNT) May 28, 2014
Just take I-95 to the Main Street bridge into downtown and take a right on Bay Street and it'll take you straight to the stadium.
Does anyone know where in JAX the USMNT will be training this week in JAX? I know the open session on Friday is at the stadium but figure Tuesday through Thursday will be either be at the jags facility or at JU, anyone know?
