This guy's been around for a while now even though he's just 21. I think he's talented, but something's gotta be going on in training that he's only played a handful of games since he debuted 3 years ago. That said, I wonder how much Edwin's reputation played in Chacarita taking this chance.I'm cautiously hopeful for him.

I have not seen much of Balanta lately but I like what I saw from him in the youth teams and when Pekerman called him up for a friendly against Peru. Would be interesting if another Balanta goes to River and becomes a fan favorite.

what does this mean? learning to defend? Somehow the 'lateral' has evolved to be the only position tasked with being completely magical with and without the ball. While a defensive winger has to be very responsible where he loses the ball, ultimately, he will lose the ball and it is up the DT to reduce the space left open by providing the right tactics and mechanisms to cover the position. Now, what I Definitely DONT want is a defensive winger to cross the half field and be timid in attack with no purpose. So instead of learning to defend as you state I would rather have a defensive winger learn to attack.
I think he can pretty much learn both @kromekote Now; don't get me wrong Im not expecting him to become cafu; But he can and most likely will work on both aspects of his game
personally hope that none of our starters move if they have consistent playing time currently any subs or fringe players who can get moves to help their NT chances should def do it.
