Well, we have a new big drum set up near our big outdoor bar.
Other than that the FO has not done much to improve the team

 

Does it depend on allocation order? For US Internationals, I believe that their is/was an order of which team had first rights.

 

And to be clear, the drum does absolutely nothing to improve the team.

 

Yeah I think some but not all US players are but weren't we first or second last year and ended up trading our allocation spot

 

Not true it is a bigger drum than any previous drums

 

Is it not capable of drumming up support for the fans and players? (Insert sacasim here)

We kicked off the 2019 season last Saturday. You should’ve been there. Everyone got a Quakes hat, we unveiled the largest drum in professional sports, introduced our new in-stadium DJ Chuy Gomez and had a packed stadium filled with energy.

(Packed stadium, really?)‍♂️

The FOMO is real, but you can still come back. There’s still a seat with your name on it. Contact the account service team about your season passes for the 2019 season.

FOMO, Fear Of Missing Out. I feel sorry for the folks that have to sell Quakes soccer these days.

 

It’s a pretty stunning fail, even by Quakes standards since 2008.

 

But at least it was in the direction of the goal. And how many other headers at. the goal did the Quakes make that night? Was that the only one?

 

TO summarize the possible reasons Quakes came out with a big drum:

1. To drum up support for the fans and players (staudio)
2. Was easier than improving the team (merged staudio & Earthshaker’s comment)
3. To create new acronym = LODINA (Earthshaker)
4. To beat the fans into submission
5. To sell naming rights to SOMETHING in the stadium
6. Because none of the supporters groups bring drums
7. To further reduce the size of the visitors warm up area

 

You forgot "to create FOMO"

 

Oh right — a lot of people told me they were so sad to miss out on the unveiling of the LODINA.

 

I actually have a bit of FOMO. I may regret missing Wondo score his recording breaking goal.

But at leas this week it hasn't overcome my disgust at the team in general. So the first time in a long time, I won't be at a home game.

 

Do you think Almeyda would go for Gio dos Santos?

Just interesting news: Giovani Dos Santos currently has a list of teams that are interested in signing him: Philadelphia Union, San Jose Earthquakes, Toronto FC, New York Red Bulls, Houston Dynamo, Cincinnati FC, Colorado Rapids, Columbus Crew, Montreal Impact & New England Revs.

God I hope the Quakes get outbid.

 

Where have you been? There is already an unnecessary thread here on that very question.

 

Quakes will probably offer more for him than it would have taken to sign Quintero.

 

Almeyda would have to want him and have the agreement of the Front Office in order to bring him to the Quakes, (assuming he would want to play for Almeyda).
If that were to happen, it would tell fans a lot about Almeyda and fans wouldn't be able to pin that one on anyone else.

 

Let's pass on him, why anyone would think he would work harder in San Jose than he did in Smell Lay I have no idea.

 

But this was the first time it was a real media rumor, as opposed to a pure hypothetical in this forum
