I was thinking about that. Years ago, when we had title runs, I never felt like we could do it. I wanted us to win, but deep down I just didn't believe. This year, I don't even get worried about matches. From the very start of the season I've been sure we're going to win the league. Its weird, each year for a title run I don't really get that "thrill" of "will they make it?" because in my head I've already made up my mind if it'll happen or not. Champion's league though, has always been another story...
Made me think of how I would bitch just a couple of season back when our longest threads were for the matches we lost. The pissing, moaning, finger pointing and lamenting the team. It all seems so long ago.
It can only get harder now as we count down the remaining matches. Especially after that mind numbing defensive display Maurine put on yesterday. We were the ones providing the football and the excitement while they were throwing bodies at the ball. As the comms called it defensive genius. As I write this I have a picture of the times they did go forward, of Bobby taking centre field in the hole left behind their attack. Ready to go at them again as our defenders looked for him when their attack broke down. So he could try to find a way around that bus again and again. Only only blind luck saved them at times. A fair result would have been 0-3. I'll happily take the 3 points tho. I might have been happier if Bobby's left foot shot in the first couple of minutes had gone in.
We all know life and football well enough to know that there will be losses and bad time too again. I dont think anyone here is foolish enough to think it will always stay this way. So let's all just enjoy the ride and trust in Klopp
watching villa getting spanked 3 - 0 at home looks like they have Pickford in goal for villa with his very short arms
Liverpool have accrued 104 points across their last 38 Premier League matches (W33 D5 L0). This is a record total by any team across a 38-match spell in the competition’s history, overtaking 102-point stretches by Man City (ending in 2018) and Chelsea (2005).
Yeah, I'm doing my best to enjoy this and savor it because it won't be this way forever. This team can win anything they want, there's no limit to what they can accomplish. After the years of Houllier and Benitez coming up just short. Hodgson out of his depth. Having to be ecstatic about a League Cup in Kenny's 2nd spell. Stupid ties with the likes of Wigan. Comeback losses against the likes of Bournemouth. Oh yeah, I'm going to enjoy this for as long as I can.
there are other permutations - but that’s the easiest way to look at it when only looking at what we need to do.
I watched them win the league in 1964. Just one of 18 all together. Then they changed the name and we had a drought. You can look for me here just above, left of the goal. The last part shows Rowdy receiving the cup. The good old standing Kop.
We beat the Arse 5-zip that day they were marmalized. In reality we only scored 4 one should have been disallowed. It was from a Cally corner on the right. Alan Acourt went for the short ball and "stepped over the ball" Cally ran around him took the ball and sent it in for a goal. Nobody ever mentioned it. I should write in and let them know. Next season we won our very first FA Cup in the years it meant something and played our first international nights for the European Cup. Got knocked out by International Milan in that one. Are those years coming back. Be fantastic to think so.
Indeed. Which is also assuming City go perfect. And the truth is that we’re more likely to win 12 than City go perfect.
Alisson ensures Liverpool’s title push has no weakness Another Liverpool win and another that led to praise for a host of players in red. Quite right too, but there should also be an appreciation of the display delivered by the man in black. Yet again Alisson was outstanding with his positioning and handling, playing as a sweeper on occasion while every shot that came his way was, as ever, held with minimum fuss. No Premier League goalkeeper has a better clean sheets percentage than Alisson this season (46), or has a higher save percentage (83.9). Since arriving from Roma for £66.9m in July 2018 the Brazilian has provided Liverpool with a calm, brilliant authority that was severely lacking during the days of Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius. Should Liverpool, as most people expect, win the title, then Alisson will have contributed as greatly as any outfield player. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2020/jan/13/premier-league-10-talking-points
Alisson should receive all the credit that is due to him. The first question asked when a team loses is: Who the hell is your keeper? Forgetting that there are 10 others on the pitch and the highest paid are usually missing shots at the other end.
Citeh are hot right now and scoring goals against teams that bring the bus onto the pitch. Just means that we have to keep our game together. I'm pretty sure that they all know the score.
I’m so happy the boys spared us a boring, completely dominant win and provided us with some pulse pounding entertainment there toward the end. A clean sheet at Shite Fart Lane is always a fine thing, beating Josay icing on the cake. Roll on.
