Re: Tottenham Hotspur Off Topic! / A.K.A. The Orpheas Thread I want Allardyce to get it. I've been very impressed with his work at Bolton mainly in the Prem but also their UEFA cup run as well. I think he's got the right mix between a strong mentality and tactical knowledge. Certainly he is a far stronger candidate than Curbishley / McLaren, I would take him above O'Neil as well. The added bonus is that it would ruin Bolton if he left, the club is built around his management and losing him would be a big blow. So the perfect choice Hiddink is top quality, but I think he is better at smaller clubs and countries, where he can have more time and influence on the players. He did not have the best of times in Spain or in some respects as Dutch coach.

I'm talking about Allardyce Curbishley McClaren (shouldn't even be a candidate imo) Hiddink & O'Neil imo would get on with the job. Jimmy Hill finally made a great point yesterday. He said that a manager's job is to get the best out of the players. Out of the shortlist I have above, the only two that would have players running through a brick walls for them are Hiddink and O'Neil.
