Early reports are it's the same team that started against Sunderland with the exception of Senderos for Distan(injury), also no Arteta on the bench so I imagine Landon will get the full 90. I'm also expecting another goal just to get him in the mood for the RS next week!
He picked up a slight groin strain at the beginning of the week and wasn't expected to play against Sunderland but that type of thing is only expected after he's coming back from 11 months out. We should have enough without him to get past Wigan and he will be wanting to play next week so no need to push him too much.
From Everton facebook: Everton starting eleven to face Wigan: Howard, Neville, Senderos, Heitinga, Baines, Donovan, Osman, Fellaini, Pienaar, Cahill, Saha. Come On Everton! *I just watched the Premier League Review on FSC and Louis Saha is very impressed with Landon - says, "It's like he's been here longer than a year, longer than me." He said other good stuff about him..something about legs and enthusiasm. Louis Saha is very hard to understand!
for those of you more familiar with Everton's play - is there no possibility of us ever seeing Donovan and Arteta on the field at the same time? Arteta's passing and vision combined with Donovan's off-the-ball runs and finishing would be something I'd love to see.
Assuming Moyes isn't too cautious bringing Mikel back he will return to the centre and seeing as Donovan has been our best right-sided outlet this season it stands to reason that when they are both fit it will be someone else that makes way for Mikey! Donovan will see an immediate benefit from Arteta's return, he has brilliant vision and distribution that will find Donovan in space.
