So, for the person who just kind of stumbled into the room and doesn't know what everyone is talking about, is there a complete list of all the players waived?
What the hell is happening? Has the entire world lost its mind in the last 24 hours? Today is the worst day of 2016 and that is really saying something.
********, I wish I was in bed, but nope...i had to drag my ass to work this morning where everyone is petrified for what could happen to our lab (and the many other scientific research labs around the country) with the Trump presidency combined with Republican controlled house/senate. As much as I want to be angry/bitter about Cassar and RSL, I'm much more worried about my livelihood with a delusional president who thinks science is bullshit.
Judging by the RSL Supports Cassar video at rsl.com, I'd say we can expect to see Yura, Tony, Kyle and Nick back next year. That may be it, though. Oh, and I know emotions are running high about politics, but could we keep the more blatant stuff off this board, for awhile at least? I'm getting a shitload of politics everywhere I turn, and this place has been one of the last refuges.
Considering I'm posting this from a hospital bed that I've now occupied for 2 straight weeks, I have to concur. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
We can hope. Honestly, I haven't seen a master plan laid out by RSL. My message here has always been simple: the talent on the field is the major determinant of success or failure. The HC can definitely have an impact through the system he chooses, the starters he chooses, the training regimen, and the subs he chooses....but all of that takes a back seat to the talent that is available to work with.
Except for the Presidential race results I truly have no problem with today. All of the names mentioned need to be waived. The Javi news conference announcement, while unsettling, has the potential to force the FO to get their act together before RSL goes over the cliff that it has been heading to for the last 2+ years. As an observer, this is great theater!
I don't think you give much credit in how much a coach can influence a team. As much as I hate the team, look at Chelsea of last year compared to this year. Their overall roster is mostly the same, yet they're miles different in how they play. If most of how a team performs is on the players, then why weren't they doing good last year? I made the mistake of renewing. Can you send me your beer money please? I fear I may need to double or triple down this season.
I ********ing loathe Pablo, but the dude at least has tactics #CassarTactics are not a thing. A line is not a shape
I didn't love but also didn't hate the Yura move when it happened. And it could be pure coincidence, but shit really hit the fan when he started to get pissy with different players (now all seeming to be on their way out) over dumb shit like taking pk's. Now he is the leading voice of Cassar staying? Man, it's probably just coincidence, but it just rubs me the wrong way And keeping Tony really, IMO, locks us into certain styles of play. The guy demands to be on the pitch with his salary and experience, which is both good and bad.
Does anyone have a run down of who is staying or going at this point? I'm kinda lost. Been that kind of week.
Rumors are that beside Javi leaving these guys will follow? Burrito Plata Olave And Mulholland will lead the offense or what ever it is they do to try and score? Waiting to hear what Javi has to say. I told my wife I'm this close to cancelling our season ticket renewals. Especially with the Cassar extension. Looking from the outside in, watching body language all season, it looks like civil war broke out in the team. What a mess. You can just see that Javi, Plata, Burrito, Beckerman, Mullholland all have little to no respect for Cassar and I imagine the list is longer. So interested to hear what Javi has to say. Did I hear right that he was just let go? Straight up waived or something? This team makes dumpster fires look organized.
There is almost no chance Mulholland inherits Javi's role. If that does happen, I will help you guys hold up the suckitude banner. When I read Cassar's comments, I took it as an attempt to deflect or to draw attention to how much Javi's production has dropped off without embarrassing him publicly by directly saying it.
