    Here's a sign of the times. Well somebody thought it was a good idea......

    8th graders graduating from the St. Cornelius middle school in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, this week were given a macabre gift: Bulletproof backpack “shields” intended to save their lives during a future school shooting.

    Additionally, guns are literal killing machines. They're made and designed for the specific purpose of killing.

    Ropes, medicine, cars, and other things that also kill people are not designed with the specific purpose of taking lives.

    This is in a Kindergarten class. They sing it to the tune of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". I feel physically ill just looking at it. No 5 year old child should EVER have to think about this.

    My god. This is awful. And so horribly mundane in this ********ed up society:


    Gunman kills self, 4 child hostages after Florida standoff

    And not surprisingly, domestic violence was at the heart of it all:

    "Officers responding to a domestic violence report were fired upon, police said. Officer Kevin Valencia was shot and was in critical condition but is expected to survive, Mina said Monday. One officer was able to return fire, the police chief said."

    Well yes, thus why I picked this thread.

    Pointing out the degree to which both mass shootings AND shootings of law enforcement officers have one mitigating circumstance in common--the shooter has a history of domestic violence/violence against women.

    Trump has called the media the “enemy of the people” 2 or 10 times in the last month. Sadly, this was an eventuality. This is the textbook definition of "inciting violence."

    EDIT - I thought this was bound to happen since PizzaGate.
