The refusal to pay up to agents and families (ala Mbappe) is the thing I'm least upset about (more like not at all). If the club's trying to make sure it's above board legally and ethically, I can't find fault with that, even if it hurts on the pitch.
Yeah, this is a big issue. Happening as a one off now and again is fine, but Arsenal is wealthy enough that they should be more proactive in this area, getting who they need/want first and then dismissing the leftovers. Would love to know what happened here. I'm less concerned about their actual relations than whether each of them is doing the job they're supposed to do. Somewhere between the pair of them the performance from the front office is breaking down. I have no problem with this whatsoever. Arsenal are wealthy enough that they can be active and put forth one of the most expensive teams around. At the least they should be performing better than what we're seeing the past few years. I think they meant last summer, when Chelsea ended up signing him.
So we will never win the cl or premier but u are happy? What is the point in being the only virtuous club? This is the most corrupt sport in the world
Agree Also why risk jail time? This is also why Utd simply pay thru the snot these days. No Utd brass is going to risk fraudulent deals and US jail time
I'm a broken man I've lost all morals since leaving my beautiful home city for derby Now I just want the sweet smell of victory as my life descends into family pacakage holidays and teletubbies
This, B.I.G. Man. Also, isn't Derby fairly close to Brum? By US standards, it's practically a suburb.
English teams complain about having to fly to Ukraine for Champions League matches. The flight takes half as long as New York to Seattle does.
It doesn't if that is all it is But see neyamr deal Concealed inducements paid by Barca can land you in prison
Several friends of mine work as lawyers for US firms in corrupt countries It's simply not worth the personal risk
Please leave, Arsene....leave and never come back. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...ays-key-arsenal-players-tapped-4-0-liverpool/
It's never just the agent fees though. It's the payments to the father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate that are a problem. And oftentimes those are needed to get deals done.
Ornstein is referring to the year before last. I don't remember Arsenal clearly being interested in him at the time, so that bit of information surprised me.
there is clearly a line that no one crosses. Arsenal refuses to even come close to that line. THats why our agent fees are often very low. If you want these players, you have to get your hands a little dirty. This sport is very dirty and Arsenal are not saints.
Can't believe people are concerned about Arsenal not being dirty enough. I prefer my Arsenal to be different than Chelsea, ManU, ManCity, Real Madrid, PSG, etc. I'm not really interested in clubs that believe in winning at any and all costs. Arsenal's approach way back in the 1990s is what drew me to the club. I'd like to see them go back to that approach and the hell with what other people are doing. I'd rather have a Arsenal finishing 5th and winning a cup than end up supporting a club that acts like Chelsea. Screw Chelsea and City and all those other idiots. I am old enough to remember a time when they were all shit clubs before the dirty money from Russian oligarchs and Middle Eastern dictators ruined the competitive nature of the European game.
