Brighton were the better team in the second half against Everton, but yielded a stupid penalty in the 88th minute to allow Everton to draw, 1-1. Everton actually almost won in the final seconds. But they still looked slow and disorganized.
My vote for 'dum-azz of the week' award goes to Bruno, the Brighton defender who saw fit to elbow an Everton player in the face on a free kick with only minutes left, giving the Blues a PK to tie the game.
He is at a club that can tell both of them to STFU when it comes to salary and transfer demand. The media can play up a 120m bid for Coutinho as "Liverpool need to take it" and "the player wants to win trophies" but they can't do that with citeh. So it wouldn't generate any interest or web clicks. But he is the best player in the league. His passing is at a level above everyone else in the world right now.
Everton lose to Lyon at home 2-1. One more game - away to Lyon which they need to win and won't - and they'll have effed up their Europa chances. BTW Williams should have seen red, he blatantly pushed their goalie onto his back after he'd caught the ball, almost started a brawl on the pitch.
How he managed to stay on the pitch is a mystery. Everton looked ponderous for much of the match and Mirallas was a one trick pony while he was on the pitch- and it wasn't a good trick.
More importantly why isn't the front page of ESPN soccernet a huge story about united losing? After all they rushed to put up the story about 0-0 against Liverpool.
Flipping back and forth between Chel$ki-Everton and WHU-Spuds at lunch time... Spuds went up 2-0 in the first half and Chel$ki were on the ropes but leading 1-0...so I decided to watch that game for a bit...until Chel$ki scored a second right at the end of the second half... Flipped back to Spuds-WHU and the Hammers are up 3-2! How did that happen?! and why could we not have done that over the weekend?!!! Seven minutes to go...
The Caribou Cup... Everton get a late goal - but its the wrong side of Chel$ki's score - Chle$ki advance... WHU hang on to a come-from-behind win (being down 2-0 at the half) to advance 3-2 over Spuds!
