I presume you're talking about McGuane and not Giroud. Isn't it a little odd that we'd give away for free a promising youngster? Especially to Barca of all clubs! Hopefully there's a least some fancy contract stuff which could bring us future money depending on how he ends up being used or sold.
Spain has an advantage for development in that the top table's reserve teams play in the lower leagues in real competition, so being signed by Barça B can be a great option for a young player, and I guarantee Arsenal get paid if Barça ever sell him.
https://www.arsenal.com/news/eddie-nketiah-wins-toulon-tournament Good news for England. Good news for Arsenal.
Yacine Adli is supposedly signed and also we've nabbed a 15 year-old from La Masia, Joel Lopez. Glad it seems like we're infusing new talent into the youth systems. I'll be really excited about Emery and our new structure if there's a newfound prioritization on bringing youngsters through. Ever since Arsene turned his bag on the youth movement/banter era our youth policy has been so desperately muddled and incompetent. It looks like we have some really good HG talent coming through right now too.
That's 4 goals in 170 minutes for Hoffenheim. I certainly don't expect him to maintain that strike rate, but he'll be like a new signing when he returns next season. Actually, with all the transfer speculation about midfielders to replace Ramsey when he leaves on a free next summer, I believe Arsenal will replace him in-house. Nelson is just one of a number of in-house alternatives for Ramsey's minutes, including Maitland-Niles and Iwobi.
Whoa. Reiss Nelson - Bundesliga 18/19 [for @ndmitrim] pic.twitter.com/150WxSkFeQ— Football Radars (@FussballRadars) November 14, 2018
It looks like he is moving around a little bit. He appears to have played as part of a two, as a wing, and in one game it looked like he lined up as the 10.
With all the playing time and hype he's been getting, I've been fretting that Reiss may not be so happy coming back to us and (potentially) getting less PT? But then I heard something that quoted him as saying he dreams of coming back to be Arsenal's captain, and I felt much better.
Are there any updates on Zelalem? He came to mind today, and it appears he is on our U-23 squad, but I can't find much about how well he is playing. Based on lack of talk about him, probably not likely he stays when his contract expires in the summer...
For a 19 year old midfielder to do this is absurd. If he keeps progressing, he's going to be a monster the likes of which we haven't seen in a long time (especially as he puts muscle onto that frame). Matteo Guendouzi, Arsenal 18-19.He certainly doesn't play like he's 19. pic.twitter.com/RWUpTE05wc— StatsBomb (@StatsBomb) December 14, 2018
Since that first slide through pass to mikhi vs Chelsea away (that auba skied) you could tell he has real talent
I think his ceiling is going to be lower than a lot of us want to believe because of his limited athleticism. He should be a very fine player for a long time, though.
I kind of agree. Its why AMN's mentality is super frustrating. He has way more talent than Guendouzi imo, but Guendouzi has a personality to take over a match while AMN just sits in chill mode.
That’s odd.I think his athleticism is one of his strengths. He is fairly big and agile, and he uses his body well. He also has good endurance. I’m not sure where he is lacking athletically at all. He hasn’t gotten his man strength yet, so he could be stronger l, but I don’t even think he necessarily needs to bulk up. He just needs to fill out.
Clive's cadence makes my head hurt. Not to say anything about the merits of what he says, he just speaks sooo slowly. It's like he's from Mississippi.
A dude who previously hung out at the Brewhouse a lot (did the reverse move of yours) told me he listened to that pod on 1.5 speed. But my response is that would make Elliot almost unlistenable.
